@Megalomaniac: Thank you for making a thread index, you saved me a lot of work! I had the same idea but
I'm quite busy at the moment (Easter Holidays).

@Moderators: Would one of the mods be so kind and make this thread sticky?

Mega is a mod. I wonder why he didn't already make it sticky.
Edit : well, actually, it seems like it actually is sticky.

The Game Hacking section has received over 120,000 views in it's first year online! Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone involved and I'm pretty sure that we'll hit the 250,000 mark next year.

Thanks for all these codes! Now I can play 60hz and 16:9 a lot of PAL games that only supported 50hz 3:4.

However, There are a few codes for the german/english PAL subversion, but no for the spanish PAL (I'm interested in Animal Crossing and Tales of Symphonia).

Is it possible to port those to my region?

PS: Ralf@gc-forever, are you the man who wrote all [ralf] codes? You are amazing.

I don't have the Spanish version of Tales of Symphonia, so I'm not able to make or port codes for it. Anyway, porting my Animal Crossing codes to Spanish region should be no big deal (give me a couple of days and I'll see what I can do).

Thanks!

I guess you won't accept a backup of Tales of Symphonia to develop the codes.
I have the original disk, but I don't want to send it to... Germany? It won't be cheap and it may get lost during the shipping.

Thanks for the awesome work man! I used to make AR codes back in the day so i know it can be entertaining ^_^
I assume you don't have NTSC Phantasy Star Online Episode III since there aren't any codes for that version.
I can ship one to you, provided you ship it back since it was expensive to import. Shipping should be quick as well since I'm practically next to you (NL).

Thanks for the offer, but I think it would be too much trouble to ship it to me and back to you again only to port a handful of codes.

Is there any chance to see Metroid Prime NTSC cheats soon? (Especially the initial release GM8E-0-00 also the later versions of it)
Also the same for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Because you guys maked some unique codes here, i never saw them somewhere else, that's why i'm asking for.

Question, do we know a good place for japanese AR codes?

I own a couple of Japanese Mario games, e.g. Mario Kart DD, I wishes to have everything unlocked.

Hey! :)

First of all - thanks for this overview and all the amazing content that's been added here over the decades (holy)!!

Now - not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is there a way to get around the AR code limit? I'm referring to the "code meter" mentioned in the Datel manual for the AR disc.
For example when I have the two PSO "Action Button Palettes" codes on (which have 71 entries in total), I can't enable any other code[s] with more than 7 entries, which leads me to believe that there's a 78 entry limit on that "code meter".
Can't imagine this being a technical limitation... Is there anything that can be done about it? Or is this related to my particular AR disc version (V 1.06)?

Thanks a bunch in advance!!

Pretty sure v1.06 is one of the earliest known versions of AR, perhaps try it in SDML or something if you have access to it.

Yeah it's the old one that lets you add games and codes. Always thought it's super cool to be able to do this without modding your gamecube or using homebrew launchers.
But it has its limitations and entering lengths codes by hand (since I don't have that sweet keyboard yet) is painful...

I could use Swiss to inject AR codes from SD cards - maybe that's what I'll have to end up doing. But what do you mean with the SDML? I know you could use it to launch this older AR - but wouldn't that have the same limitations?

I meant injecting cheat codes into the SDML cheat database or loading them from SD card, but you might as well just try and see how it goes in Swiss instead (the cheat engine is a thing that tends to break often as it clashes with things we do in our patches/etc).

Or I think the last one you could add cheats in was 1.14 beta, see if you can find the DOL/ISO of that one and if it contains an increased cheat limit?

It's a technical limitation of the Action Replay code handler.

Code: Select all

Action Replay (v1.09-v1.14c) memory map

0x80001840-0x8000185F	master code type jump vectors (0-6)
0x80001860-0x8000192F memory for codes with master code flag (room for max. 26 code lines w/o verifier lines)
0x80001930-0x80001BAF	memory for regular codes (room for max. 80 code lines w/o verifier lines)
0x80001BB0-0x800025AF	AR code handler

The master code memory is also used for backed up ASM lines from the game with master code type 1 and type 3. Beyond that, the Action Replay code input buffer has a entry limit of 64 codes lines (w/ verifier line) per code.

Would it be possible to create an infinite jump code for Metal Arms: Glitch in the System? The existing Super Jump isn't ideal.
