Hi Ralf. First I just want to say that you are very talented, thank you for making so many of these PSO codes, there are so many detailed ones here, it's amazing.
I noticed you also made some palette codes - here's my earlier version, a bit different to yours. I'm not sure if I posted it anywhere apart from youtube, so this is a good site to post it on.

In mine the palette is fixed, yours is very clever in that you can edit and save. Maybe mine is useful for someone.

My request: Would you be interested in looking at a code that disables the save encryption?
I would love to build a save editor for this game, but the save is encrypted.
If there was a code to disable the encryption when saving (and one to skip decryption when loading), that would be amazing.
Or, if you have any advice or information about the encryption/decryption process itself, that is nice too.
I read that the character save files are encrypted by the timestamp of the system save data, but apart from that I couldn't find any information.
I really appreciate it!
Thank you.

Hey cearp! The palette codes are inspired by your YouTube video. I shared it with Ralf with the hope that he might be able to overcome the limitation of having to define all the buttons beforehand, and after half a dozen attempts, we got the patch working. :) Thanks for demonstrating that it was possible.

I'm glad Ralf made my idea so cool! No problem at all :) After so many years I'm still interested in this game.

IMHO, such code makes no sense (only for testing purposes, maybe), because the game use Sega's custom blowfish algorithm to encrypt/decrypt the guild card and character data. The PSO blowfish algorithm is well documented by Fuzziqer Software and some encryption tools and programming libraries can be found on the net (e.g. PSOCrypt-GC):

https://github.com/TauAkiou/psocrypt-cs

BTW, there're some more legal actions for Photon Blasts and traps:

Code: Select all

040D - Fire trap
040E - Freeze trap
040F - Slo-mo trap
0410 - Confusion trap

0500 - Farlla
0501 - Estlla
0502 - Golla
0503 - Pilla
0504 - Leilla
0505 - Mylla & Youlla
0506 - Megid
0507 - Grants

Interesting about the extra palette choices, I never play android so I forgot about traps! Thanks for those.

Thanks, that's some good information about being sega's custom blowfish. I have no idea how to use the code in the github but I'll can try and do more research.
It's a shame that the author thinks it probably doesn't work - https://github.com/TauAkiou/psocrypt-cs/issues/1
Maybe I should look for the original fuzziqer code, although maybe difficult since his site looks very blank now.

I think it would be a very useful code, because it would let me make a save editor easily :)
With the amount of items and bank storage this game has I think having a save editor is a very cool thing. I'm eager to make one.
But yes, the save encryption is the main problem.
If you are not interested in making the code though, I understand.
Apart from that github link though, I have no idea where to begin :D

Editing the save file is a lot of extra work if you want to make items. Just run your own server or connect through a proxy and use /item to create anything you want, haha. You don't need to slowly create items one by one with AR codes.

I know I can make items by connecting to a server/proxy, but I'd rather use a save editor than type in hex codes. With a save editor I could do things in bulk too. Exporting your box would be cool, it's just having more choice.
Plus if we ever do get decryption for saves, we can use that for the downloadable quests too, because they are also tied to your system data.

Yes, but since there are so many ways to get online, there's not much point in manipulating the quest files when you can just download quests normally from your server of choice (including your own).

Save data manipulation would be much more valuable for PSOX, since there's no readily available method to get online to download quests anymore, but even on Xbox, you can just replace the offline quests to get more quest options offline.

Hi there! I’m new to GC Forever, but I’ve been looking at the forums for a while. I was wondering if anyone could help me... I had a code for action replay that let you delete a saved Hunter’s license from your profile so you could put in a new one. Does anyone have that code for WiiRD now?

Code: Select all

WiiRD/Gecko code format

PAL

Delete Saved Hunter's License Information [soulja224466]
04321638 60000000
0432AF8C 60000000

NTSC-U 1.00

Delete Saved Hunter's License Information [soulja224466]
04320824 60000000
04320864 60000000

NTSC-U 1.01

Delete Saved Hunter's License Information [soulja224466]
04320868 60000000
0432A0A8 60000000

NTSC-U 1.02 Plus

Delete Saved Hunter's License Information [soulja224466]
043222DC 60000000
0432BB80 60000000

Select online mode when the code is active, and the game will ask you to enter
your information again. Once you enter the information and connect online to a
server, you should quit the game and turn the code off again, or it will keep
asking you to enter the information every time you go online.
