I got Shiba Select to work! I don't know what I did, but it worked!

Found all sorts of neat button combinations and functions in there.
Z+B initiates the bone edit, Z+Y starts face edit, Z+down makes the character swap sides, Z+up changes them into/from beast form instantly, Z and C-stick tests out some effects, etcetc

Super, thanks for the info. I'll take a look and see if I can find a way to enable the Shiba menu too.

Change the code to set the debug level to 1.
I think that's what's doing it.

Have you seen this debug function?
It seems to be for testing effects.
I got to it by changing the byte of ram saying what debug menu to load.
01 = shiba
02 = effect test (see image)
04 = message test
0A = sound test

etc

any thoughts?

Unfortunately, some of the BRPF debug functions are broken and crash on real GameCube hardware and this effect test is one of them.

Ah, that's a shame. That probably explains why I couldn't get it to work.

I think it's also worth mentioning that debug level 3 seems to have slightly different effects than debug level 2, which you used for the fight debug menu.

I think I'm done fiddling with this game, though. I'll take a quick amateurish look at Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 and Zatch Bell, though.
