Hello Ralf, I was wondering if you would consider porting the Debug Room codes to the JPN version? Pretty much all of the text is garbled in the PAL version due to the text encoding, and it's quite difficult to guess what all of the options do without trial and error.

I have a dump I did a while ago if you're interested and not too busy. Thanks.

Most text encoding issues are a result of running a game on the wrong region console. An option that puts the game into a Japanese environment might work, like Dolphin's force NTSC-J.

@Moofs: Well, I'm very busy working on another project (PSO improvements and bug fixing) with Aleron Ives. Anyway, the Debug Room codes should be very easy to port over to JPN region, you just need a RAM dump of the Japanese version and a Hex editor of your choice (and some basic hacking skills).

Only the Stage Modifier address of the Debug Room codes needs to be ported:

Replace Drain With Debug Room xx (PAL)
2026644C 0000000B
0426644C 000000xx
E2000001 80008000

PAL Stage Modifier address: 26644C

PAL Hex dump

266400: 00000000 00000094 00000000 00008440
266410: 81746520 00000000 00000000 00000000
266420: 00000000 00000000 00000000 8025F248
266430: 81746520 81746540 8174E960 00000546
266440: 8174A488 0000841F 00000000 00000005
266450: 00000005 0000001E 00000000 00000000
266460: 7BCF7BCF 7BCF7BCF 00000000 00000000
266470: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
266480: 7BCF7BCF 7BCF7BCF 00000000 00000000
266490: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
2664A0: 7BCF7BCF 7BCF7BCF 00000000 00000000
2664B0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
2664C0: 7BCF7BCF 7BCF7BCF 00000000 00000000
2664D0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000

The easiest way to do this is to find the following byte sequence in the JPN RAM dump: "7BCF7BCF 7BCF7BCF", the Stage Modifier address is the address of the red marked value in the Hex dump above.

If you have problems to port the Debug Room codes, please let me know and I'll take a look.

Tried that, but unfortunately didn't work.

Hey, thanks! I didn't know it would be that simple at all. Even for someone like me who's only "hacking" experience is with Cheat Engine.
