Swiss AR Loader issues

Post by TSGlaceon » Thu May 23, 2019 7:37 am

So i Recently Purchased an AR and a SD Memory Card to boot swiss but it didn't seem to work, the SD Cards i used were Sandisk 2GB, Sandisk8GB, Sandisk Ultra 16GB, and Sandisk Ultra 32GB.
I formatted all of them multiples time to Fat32 and non of them would boot up as AR would just load normally, So i thought maybe its the SDcard Memory card that doesnt work so i ordered another one, and it doesnt do anything either,
I tried different versions of swiss, Different dols but non seem to work at all, I tried with the Compressed dol and normal dol in root of sd card and i even just dropped the entire folder in, I also had the SDLOADER.BIN on root and with out
moving it from its directory but to no luck at all.

What could be causing it to not load? Could it be the gamecube itself or the AR?

Can you elaborate which AR you have and if it's one that natively supports booting DOL files from a SD card or not? Post a picture of it either running or of the packaging/disc.

If you have an old version, the kind where you'll need to use something like the 29 line cheat code, you will need to use SDPatch.exe on a 2GB or smaller SD card in order to boot SDLOADER.BIN (or Swiss's equivalent).

If you have a newer version, it's just a matter of having the SD adaptor in Slot B(?) and using a 2GB FAT32 formatted card or smaller with any homebrew DOL files on it.

Either way, sounds like we can sort it out, just let us know what variant you have.

Alright, you'll need to use a 2GB or smaller SD card, format it in windows to FAT16 (default cluster size), then put a single DOL file on it for starters.

This video should help you out in case you're missing something obvious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h1mnOUv2DY

FAT32 won't work, it has to be FAT(16).

What's the most recent version of Windows that lets you format with FAT16? XP? IIRC Windows 8/10 won't even let you format with FAT32 natively, only exFAT/NTFS; you have to use third-party software for traditional FAT.
