I have been out of the Wii scene for a little while. I was wondering what are the best hdd loaders for the Wii? I'm looking to play Gamecube games and Wii games. I hear you can play Gamecube games with audio streaming from hdd and so on.

I've always been a fan google searches - if you were to look up "play gamecube games on wii usb" you'll find quite a lot of really good info within the first 3 links. Better yet: search for: "wii usb loader comparison" and follow the first link.

loaders that support cMios can load gamecube iso's, and as their name implies they can all play wii backups.
simply find the one that meets your needs and enjoy

The 3 I've tested and are the top loaders recommended by wiihacks.com:
USB Loader GX
CFG Loader
WiiFlow

I'm looking into software at the moment.

I have USB Loader Gx and like it. But after installing Wiiflow and some cios's, USB Loader Gx doesn't find my hdd so I cant use it.....
Does USB Loader Gx play Gamecube games from hdd?

right now I'm trying to fill my head up with Wii info. like ios, cios, wads, etc. I want to learn as much as i can about it before proceeding.

Thanks for the input. :D

No Wii loader natively plays Gamecube games from HDD. Doing so requires the loader to launch a secondary program; DIOS MIOS or Devolution actually loads the GC game. DM replaces the MIOS (GC compatibility layer) with a version which can communicate with the HDD. Devolution runs the games in Wii mode and requires original discs for verification. So, as an example, what happens is that Wiiflow displays the GC games in the /games folder, then launches the appropriate application when the GC game is selected.

Both USB loaders can be used to load DM or Devolution if configured properly.
