NEW WII SYS UPDATE
Hey has anyone noticed new Wii System Update today.
Got back from work and went pub for a short while and upon coming back,
the Wii is asking for a "Wii System Update" as of 7.30pm on Michael Jackson
Tested all my Wii games in the Disk Drive and half (newer ones) are all prompting UPDATE
Why would Nintendo suddenly choose to update now???
There has been no reason, no sudden piracy, perhaps someone finally hacked the
Wii U thru WiiMode but I thought this impossible,
ANYONE ELSE AFFECTED (in PAL or NTSC) ????
For now running games through Gecko app, may have to delete/move Disk Channel
ANY SUGGESTIONS please

WII Update?

Which Version?
Disc Channel/forwarder won´t work now?

Re: NEW WII SYS UPDATE
This is a quite bizarre introduction thread.
Hardware: Wii (PAL)
Hardware configuration: System Menu 4.1E, Priiloader
Swiss boot method: Modified Wii Swiss Booter provided by Extrems
Software medium: Retail discs

Re: NEW WII SYS UPDATE
If it's prompting you to update from game discs that you've played before, you probably downgraded/modified something you shouldn't have.
Network updates do not show up in the disc channel.

Re: NEW WII SYS UPDATE
Problem was half of my games wanted to do a Disk Update, despite my Wii being on 4.3 already.
According to this http://gbatemp.net/threads/disc-channel ... ay.311716/
This occurs when using any CIOS, in my case to load Wiimms Mario Kart Fun 2013 ISO
Nintendo detects this and installs stubs in all the CIOS slots,
which is to stop piracy and USBloaders, so fair enough
The solution is instead of using USBloader for the Mario Kart 2013 ISO
I will instead burn to a disk and use Neogamma.

Well I would n't know anything about that...emu_kidid wrote:sounds like too much warez is your problem
Did try backups a few years back, but these USBloaders are so unstable, slow
Better off just keeping the disks and supporting the actual companies.
Only used it recently for that Mario Kart 2013 mod is all
Re: NEW WII SYS UPDATE
You find USB loaders to be unstable?
I have been using USBloaderGX for probably 4 or 5 years and have had no problem.
My disc drive is loud, so I prefer to use the loader.
Mind you, I don't really play any games made after 2008 or so.
I think the last wii game I purchased was Mario Kart.
