Wii VGA mod?
So I have an idea and I wanted to run it by you guys before I even attempt it. I'm wanting to know if the Wii pushes composite while in 480p mode so I could extract it and convert it to the V-sync and H-sync that RGBHV needs.

Still have the files from Extrems, don't know if they were intended for 480p/576p RGB directly anyway. Extracting the H/V-sync signals when in regular 480i/576i RGB was no problem.
But if I understand correctly, 480p/576p component uses the 'green' line as sync-signals carrier. Nowadays I have a scope, if it helps.

Thanks for the info. What files are you referring to from extrems? And what is scope?

Don't have the .dol files on this PC, but will upload them.
Oscilloscope I meant.

These are the files created by Extrems to force 480p/576p RGB. I don't know exactly what Extrems had in mind with them, perhaps they were just meant to test if 480/576p RGB is possible at all. At least I could try to connect the component wires directly to the CRT-TV composite input like Extrems did.
Measuring and understanding video signals with an oscilloscope is not as easy as just ordinary audio signals, so I don't think that's gonna work out for me.

I didn't need code or anything to force 480p on PAL. I wired up an adapter and I'm getting a green tint over everything even when I turn on Sync on green.

Re: Wii VGA mod?
So I region modded my NTCS Wii to output European video signal using the homebrew software, "Any Region Switcher". Is this all I need to change on the console for it to output RGB instead of component?

Re: Wii VGA mod?
I did some testing again. I have a component cable attached, native 480p YPbPr enabled, and convert the sync signals from green to HV sync signals with the EL1883. With just native 480p component I supply the HV signals to a VGA monitor and that works. When I connect one of the component leads to either the R, G or B input together with HV, I get an image, of course the colors aren't correct cause the Wii outputs YPbPr colorspace. Also the VGA monitor loses sync every few seconds, probably due to my EL1883 setup.
Now I try to force RGB progressive with the Extrems files. The only one that outputs something is 480p-B.dol, the other ones don't output anything at all. The ouput from 480p-B.dol however doesn't seem to provide any useful sync signals on green, cause neither my component-TV or the EL1883 (to VGA monitor) can detect them to provide an image.
Next thing to do is attach the Luma signal (which carries the sync signals) to an oscilloscope.

While your at it can you take a reading of the PB/CB line in-game from Animal Crossing and then once again with one of the NES games loaded, thanks.
If at all possible take readings for 480p, 480i in the NTSC version and a 576i readings from the PAL version as well with 576p forced in swiss-gc.
