Where to buy FFC cables?

I need a place to get FFC cables 32-pin and I think 11-pin FFC whichever comes off the SD card slot to WASP/WiiKey. Mega has 32-pin 4 inch FFC that is fine for a normal replacement but the WODE has that slave FFC which goes to the screen which is long (I think 10 inches). My main concern is my Xkey for my xbox 360 that FFC that comes off the Xkey then goes to the USB dongle. This is the second time that this cable has gone bad last time I used the longer FFC that comes with the Xkey kit (1 long for Phat 1 short for Slim). I don't know why they go bad I have it installed right in a 250gb Slim it does see a lot of use but other then the FFC going bad I have nothing bad to say about the device for the 3 years I had it installed. Any help would be appreciated thank you

This is why I hate FFCs - they're a shitty design that's practically made to fail over time.

Digi-key probably has what you need.

Thank you, but I'm sorry I have to disagree with you on that statement because me and you once had a argument about this. FFC's are better in many ways such as saving space, make your mod look presentable, and ease of install. Wires are only as good as that persons soldering skills and can break off over time due to wire stress at solder joints even if your a master solderer.

Here is my GCvideo-DVI installed in my Qoob gamecube and I'm sorry but don't you think this would of looked better with a FFC then this. I mean I didn't have a choice it was wires or spending weeks or months on something that looks presentable that uses FFC or less wires. I can deal with a few wires but 21 is a little crazy. I first got to hate wires when I installed a mobo 4.0 in my PS2 my god what a nightmare I never want to go though that again. Thank you for the tip but I tried them before and I didn't find what I was looking for. I will try again

I have to agree, wire porn looks ugly and is not easily disassembled. And it's indeed prone to breakage : I've had a modified tablet charger cable (soldered a euro plug + cable extension to a us power brick) break near the solder joint after a few months. Pretty sure it was a 1mm² or more cross section, just to show that the wire thickness doesn't even matter.

Who said you have to use individual wires? Ribbon cables and other methods were used for years before FFC started becoming popular. Now it's used for all sorts of things where it shouldn't be; it's designed for FLEXIBLE applications, where a regular cable would be unsuitable due to movement fatigue i.e. printer heads, optical drive assemblies. Even then it's cheap and nasty shit that tends to split into separate layers internally making an open circuit that's undetectable to the naked eye. In other words, it sucks even when it's used for exactly what it was designed for.

Well ribbon cables do work, but you still need to have a connector attached for disassembly/durability or it suffers from the same issues as wire porn.

FFCs aren't meant to be used without a connector either, just because you CAN solder to them doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Oh I've seen it done before in retail hardware. Broke a calculator because of that (screen daughterboard attached with an FFC).

I never saw anyone solder to a FFC till I joined here. Really is amazing work something I don't have the patience for.

At least whoever designed the board had the right idea...

That's not what I was talking about but I guess you could use that as a example. Those traces are cake to solder but soldering to a 32-pin FFC no thanks. I got the FFC I need for the Xkey from eurasia. I sent them a email they said they have a few so I bought 2 just in case
