Is it possible for Gamecubes to load games via the serial/hi speed ports? If so, is it possible to create a program that can load GC games via the Wii's USB ports by 'tricking' the Wii into thinking that the USB ports are actually the GC's serial ports?

With the IDE EXI Adapter it isn´t possible because the lines of the bus aren´t the same.

If it is possible than there must be a new ide interface.

Nope you can't trick a USB port into thinking it's a EXI port...

The best way to do it has been tried and failed for reasons that are too complex to bother fixing (see DIOS by crediar).

Your best bet is a Wode. They're a solid device and I highly recommend them, having no issues with one since first buying it (apart from audio streaming games but they are few and far between).

Can the IDE EXI be tricked into thinking it's a real sdcard so you can load dols of it with SDML or SDLoad? or will we have to wait for a GC softmod that can run Swiss to gain access to the EXI IDE contents?

Yes, as I said, the source site has been deleted from google code.
