Close look on WODE

Hey Guys,

Some of you know that my soldering iron died, so i have alot of spare time :P

OK, i just took my wode out of the wii, to put it in a gc later on.
On a close look at the host connecter it seems to me that not all pins are connected to a controller on the board.

Could somebody approve of this?

Not all pins are needed on the mainboard side?
If someone understands german better than my englisch, here you go:

Hallo Leute,

thanks to liquitt for correction

if you look at the connection guide that Ashen has made, he only joins what is necessary.

You can find it here: http://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewto ... ?f=3&t=416

Only one or two are indeed not connected, the rest are, even though a large amount of them are GND.

Yea, Actually someone from modretro just asked this exact question.

Even though when you look at the wiikey/WODE chips it may appear that there are no traces coming from the pins. They actually just run backwards underneath the FFC connector. Most go to a common ground, some to via's. Testing with a multimeter will confirm this for you.

thanks a lot.

Actually i own only a wode so i couldn´t compare with wiikey.

With mulimeter i tried but with the "paint" on the board i get no connection by the pins on the other side. (Don´t know the right word but its just like paint ^^)

So i just tryed some pins and all had connection to ground.
a other thought struck me, that its an mulilayer more than 2 layers.

This gnd pins i could set on ground on the gc board, so i don´t have to connect to flex wire.

thanks a lot.
