Help with Wii.

Post by BoFoSho » Thu Jun 16, 2011 6:15 am

Hello, I come from another modding forum called Modretro.
I am looking for people who know their way around the Wii hardware or people that have dead Wiis they could spare for a little project i am working on.

So the project i am working on is the first portable wii but the more interesting part is how small I can get the Wii.
I have all the parts for the portable coming in the mail and know my way around the n64 just not he Wii. I contributed somewhat in making the smallest n64 mobo/I had the first known working one. My friend Beta did 99% of the work i just did he cutting and wiring. I need the dead boards to sand down and find he hidden traces.

So anybody can help me out by donating a broken/dead Wii or their time and knowledge?
Please PM me if interested
You will get more than your share of credit and thanks if you help.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
- Bo

pay the shipping and I'll sell you my dead unit for $15 USD. I have no use for it at this time. I have no idea whats wrong with it but I know there are plenty of good parts on it.

I have both some knowledge and a fair number of dead Wii boards. What info do you have so far, what revisions of the PCB do you have/want, and how are you planning on sanding down the boards?

FYI, you might want to focus on the latest rev (C/RVL-CPU-40) -- this version is only 4 layers (down from 6).

Thanks for the welcome -- the wife has asked me to try to get rid of some of this broken electronic crap I have lying around and emu_kidid suggested I might find people here who could put it to good use! :)

Heya bushing! Welcome to the forums.

Do you have a list made up of "dead" Wii stuff you have laying about? I wouldn't mind a spare Wii MB or two to tinker with. If you do get a list made up post it here and I can direct people from modretro, etc. over to here. I know a lot of people from those modding forums don't check here very regular.
