Does anyone still play this game?

I tried to connect the other day and was pleased to see that the server is still up

If you are interested head over to their official page and register

the network is pretty easy to set up:
-connect your gcn bba to your router
-set the IP to auto (dhcp)
-make sure you put both primary and secondary DNS in the required fields. (that was the only reason i couldn't connect)
Primary DNS: 208.69.57.87
Secondary DNS: 65.12.199.46

oh hell yeah i was waiting for news like this ... will have to buy PSO again!!

And I thought the GC Modem adapter was useless...

The modem adapter pretty much is, but the BBA still has some use

..and I still play today. But Blue Burst on PC not EpI&II on GC.

If I had a controller for my computer then I would play pso BB, but I love the feel of gamecube pso it feels right,

i finally managed to aquire the ascii keyboard controller - can't wait to play this again!

gotta get one of those and play too.

I've never played Phantasy Star before. Are there still actually people online? Is it worth buying?

No there isn't an official online server anymore. it has to be played online over a private server but it's definately worth while to have and play as far as RPG's for the gamecube goes I'd say it's definately one of the best. though the price for the exploitable version of PSO is unreal. 80 plus USD on ebay is about the price I usually see. on the other hand I do believe it works with swiss from SD or IDE-EXI so if you have a GC with BBA and can run swiss on it you can setup a gameplay session over a private server.

But don't get fooled by the amount of people online. BB and GC share the same server/ships/lobbys so what you see in the lobby are probably mostly BB players and they can't play together. (but I think lobby works so you can talk to them and have a good time just chatting in the lobby)

I think Terra's Luna is where most GC players are playing, though there's nothing stopping BB players from joining it is usually left alone. As you can see, not many players were on that ship so your best bet is joining the schtserv forums and ask in the gamecube section if someone wants to play or if you know someone who also has the game and you decide on a time etc.

I LOVE this game. It's why I got a BBA in the first place. Then I found out that you can stream homebrew through it as well.

Problem for me was that everyone on it is usually LVL 100+ from boosting on the boss mission ("Into the Future" maybe?). I wanted my first playthrough to be a little less 'roided up, so there's not many 50-60 characters in my range to play with. If anyone's around there and wants blast some monsters just pm me and we'll work something out.

i think i only have my blueburst character left...
so i guess i'll have to start a new one.

but yeah we should found the gcforever guild and start leveling together. i hate playing with overpowered players :/

there's no one to play with? have you tried the terra's luna server? that's the gamecube server and people still play it. i just started a new fomar not too long ago and decided to go all legit and play the game the way it was meant to be played i think it's more fun that way. all my old characters were hacked on. i have a keyboard and broadband adapter too and 2 of the original games. i actually bought my gamecube back in the day just to play this game.

i think a BBA is about $30 and keyboard is about $25

thanks might have to look into buying them.

I've never had a keyboard and it would likely be pretty expensive for me to purchase one and get it shipped. They do look hilarious though! Would anyone be interested in maybe Skype (if conferencing can be done) or mIRC or something like that?

someone could create a game called gc4ever on one of the servers? from there, when other people come online they can just check for that name and join in, until we get each others guild cards

If someone creates one, I'm sure people will start dropping by.. gotta get this done one day

got a powerboard, got PSOI+II ... and fried my only working drive. anyway, a new one is in the mail, so i might be in for this really soon

Anyone still up for this sometime? I should still have all the configs stored and ready to go. I think I'm around level 60-70 or so, but I could totally start a new character if you guys wanted to give it a shot. It's no fun when you're not all within 10 levels or so of each other.
