emukid, I'm not at all familiar with emulation and how it works, so forgive me. But is there any chance we are looking at any HD/high-resolution texture packs for the next release you are working on? Just curious. Thank you for all your efforts.

Yes there is a high chance - since it's already working. We posted about it on emulatemii.com a while back.

Hello emu_kidid,

I'm a big Wii64 fan and I've been enjoying the emulator since it came out, so I'm excited about a future next release.
I wanted to ask you if the new Wii64 will be compatible with GoldenEye hacks (custom maps) since I know Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64 and F-Zero X hacks already work. Actually, GE hacks do work when running the emulator in Pure Interpreter, but only at 10% speed or something like that, so they are unplayable.

I have done some custom multiplayer maps and since you said GE 4P multi will perform at playable levels it will be great to be able to play them on the Wii. There's also this major GE hack I've been working on with more people and I think if Wii64 is able to run it, more people will be interested in the hack. When both are available, hehe. ;)

If you aren't familiar with GoldenEye and Perfect Dark hacking you can find working hacks and info here:

Happy Holidays! :D

KrisRevi, Extrems worked on Not64, it's a fork of Wii64 with some changes/improvements.

Sogun, I'm aware of the custom maps/etc but I haven't tried them myself so I can't comment.

I'm really happy to see that Wii64 progress is still alive

Hope i can play Star Wars: Shadows of Empire and Perfect Dark again next year

keep the good job!

I do not want to be annoying but, will WiiSX have some improvements too?

Very very nice :) :)
Rock on man! This is quite a tease as well as a hopeful development for us fans of Wii64/Not64. TWINE, a previously unplayable game, now runs, and quite good at that!

2 questions :)
1)I have recently completed TWINE on PC and some of the later stages have quite large open areas. Do you know how framerate holds up in those levels?
2) any change of a stopgap release of that demo version?

Thanks and have a great great 2014 Extrems and all other guys in here! Wii64/Not64 ftw!

==EDIT==
Ignore question 1, i just saw one of the levels i was referring to at the end of the video you posted and it is smooth (55-60VI/s). Great! However, level 1 still seems to have the same issue.

It doesn't run much better than it did in Wii64 Beta 1.1, and is still very much unplayable.
But notice it now has SOUND.

Right. I suppose you mean level 1 and others. The London subway level and the one with the airport in the woods seem ok (barring invisible Bond hands/gun) in the demo reel. I' ll try latest Not64 with a completed savegame of twine, might do the trick to check later levels.
Btw about question 2... ;) I know, i should try to compile with MusyX HLE but i am a total noob.

Hey, I tried TWINE with the old Not64 version to compare it to the video you posted.
You are correct, no sound is present in the old version. :)
Also , i noticed that the same demo reel with gameplay of various levels shown is quite slower (30-46 VI/S) on the old version, compared to the one in your video (which ranges from 50-60 VI/S). Although, it could be from the fact that i run Not64 and roms via SD card and in your video the demo version autoloads TWINE rom from USB device. Anyway, great job!
And if i may ask again, would a beta release be possible please?

It doesn't sound like you're running a release from this year, where a NAND-backed VM was introduced and made the source device irrelevant.

GREAT! This is what I 've been waiting for! I didnt know anyone was still working on this.
Thank You extrems for this New Year gift.
I knew it was possible but never thought anyone would ever port MusyX
Now can play Tarzan, Hydro Thunder, 007 and Rugrats
Looking very forward to next release of Not64

I will definitely make a donation once paid at end of month. Thanks

Just make donation by his MplayerCE page, I gotta wait till end of month tho

EDIT: Also for anyone interested I ve just found about some Beta 64 roms that
were only just recovered by the community about 2 years ago.
40 Winks, Goldeneye X, Dragon Sword all have coop campaigns.
Also there is Glover2 and a game I'd overlooked Fighting Force. Enjoy

GoldenEye X is completable and a great mod to boot.
40 winks is really dark on No64, better try the inject wad hat is out there. It doesn't save though (original game needed memory pak).
Glover 2 is much better game that the first, looks much better too.
Fighting Force codedumps IIRC.

Too right GoldeneyeX has great coop campaign. I had same problem with 40 winks had to
turn brightness right up on TV. Also Fighting Force had graphical problems.
Have you tried Dragon Sword crash end of level 1 for me, will try again later :-D

Damnit!

I just searched my USB to look for the custom texture packs I made for Mario 64, OoT and MM and found out I deleted them a long time ago. :(

Also, can anyone point me out to the latest update for Not64?
