We'll just have to do like Devolution and figure out the differences ourselves. ;)

The newest version uses NAND as a means for virtual memory for a performance boost, as I just found out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since NAND has a limited no. of reads and writes, this will only serve to wear out the limited no. of read/write times that much faster, would it not?. Is there a performance gain in Hybrid Heaven, what about the ladder climbing bug?

Don't turn on your Wii, you'll wear out the NAND.
the_randomizer wrote:what about the ladder climbing bug; if it works in interpreter, is that bug really that hard to fix in dynamic recompiler mode?
I could fix it, by dropping the floating-point unavailable speedhack.

And now for something completely different. And since I transgressed the unwritten law, I'll take my leave.

Good day.

How does just turning on your Wii write anything to the NAND?

Anyway, I'm somewhat confused about what this new function does. Does it load large roms into the NAND due to a lack of RAM on the Wii?

Don't ask him that, you'll only piss him off. ;)

Previously, large ROMs were swapped out from the source.
Using NAND reduces latency and improves reliability.
It also allow for larger compressed ROMs.

So uh... it is impossible to read from the rom directly on USB and/or SD?

If this has already been addresssed, please point me in the right direction. There has been an issue going on with the D-Pad emulation on the Classic Controller. The Right direction also activates the bottom C button when pressed. Is there a fix for this? It's been going on since the official release of Wii64 and it makes any game that requires the D pad nearly impossible to play. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated since I now only own a Wii-U and no longer have the option of using a GC controller. Thanks!

In the name of almost every Not64 user, I thank you, Extrems, for keeping this emulator alive and tgrying to depure and polish the code to make more games a little more playable.

Since the official one seems to be in an hibernation state, this one is the only updates we get, and I am really thankful for that.

Keep up the good work, Extrems. :)

Seconded!
Thanks to extrems (and the wii64 team) for all the progress they have accomplished so far.

That "and the wii64 team" bit was a joke right? They haven't updated the damn thing in over two years. Surely, all your credit should go to extrems and not the Wii64 team.

No, i'm not joking. It would be disrespectful (from my part at least) not to recognize their original work. They provided the foundation, which Extrems has done a stellar job improving so far.

the_randomizer come on, get over it already... we've made improvements, just nothing worthy of a release, you know how it goes!

Woa, the Lord has spoken.
Let me write it down on the Book of Extrems, Chapter 13, Versicle 23.

"And the fans and people of the Wii community were outraged, furious without the word of their Gods, and so their same Gods answered back with fuel to the fire, invigorating their rage and igniting an awful war."

So I presume that applies to WiiSX as well, and therefore that means Classic Controller Pro support hasn't been fixed yet?

CC Pro support being the joystick issues? Those were fixed in libOGC so that's automatically "fixed" by definition when we make a new release.

WiiSX received improvements behind the scenes but not nearly as many as wii64 has.

Yes, the joystick issues. To me that would seem like enough to make a bugfix release, like x.x.1 release.

True, the problem is our changes were made in bulk and a few things would be less stable than the released code/etc.
