What is the PVR number?

It seems to be the same on all the cubes I've tested.

PVR = processor version/revision.

So, for an NTSC cubes:
8D at the begining indicates IPL version 1.0
(3 confirms, assuming ashen messed up when typing "1D")

XX96X000 seems to indicate IPL version 1.2
(2 confirms)

Is it possible that there are multiple FW versions that report as the same thing?
(Could there be, say, multiple revisions of 1.1?)

These IDs wouldn't strictly match any IPL version, they're burned into the CPU when it's manufactured. The IPL is in a completely different chip.
