Thanks for posting this; it looks like exactly what I want to do but on a Japanese Cube (so I can edit isos). I wasn't sure before if a Wiikey could be installed without a WODE or something else.

I am a newb at soldering and I tried today to install a region switch on a Japanese Cube and failed because I hadn't realised just how small everything is. (I did manage to convert it to an US Cube now which I needed anyway!) This project looks a little easier except for the FFC cable, but at least I can replace the cable and try again instead of messing up the PCB.

no, not at all. believe me. a region switch is a piece of cake compared to this :)

I meant easier in the sense that the soldering points on the PCB are bigger. This is certainly a much more complicated project, but hopefully more forgiving of mistakes. After one error with the region switch I was left with nothing to connect the wire to, so I just laid it across the two points and soaked it in a bit more solder. I should have got a fine soldering iron and a magnifier when I saw how small the soldering points were, but I was too impatient!

no, I put another switch with hot glue directly under the reset button of the gamecube. when I press the reset button both happens. the gamecube resets and the wiikey fusion too.

Looks awesome man! I love the reset button trick. Does that allow the GC to "autoboot" to the wiikey menu after the reset then?

yeah thats the problem. I have to open the case everytime when I want to put new things on it. maybe swiss gets in the future file browser then I could copy things from the sd card of the Wiikey via the IDE/EXI to the HDD.

But until this happens I have to open the case, disconnect the IDE/EXI and connect the IDE/USB adapter.

MRTN's super hot manlove Melee sessions left Bud wanting more when he got home. This is what I came up with to fulfill Bud's desires.

Not really much Bud specified besides wanting a platinum cube, and having the Wiikey's SD slot mounted the way Hail did his. I didn't have any decent platinum cases, so I took the sexiest indigo case I had and gave it some new life.
