I plug it in after selecting ntfs and I hit A, nothing happens, I unplug it and immediately it says it was mounted (using the correct name for the device). Obviously it's unplugged so hitting A causes it to say that it can't create the file and trying again and plugging it back in after it says it was mounted still fails.
Also, when creating iso chunks, what should we use to put them back together? I believe you can use the cat command in linux, but is there something I can do/use on windows?
CleanRip v1.0.1

Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
I was wondering if CleanRip allows me to access the backup data? Or do I need a loader or other app to get that to work.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
CleanRip rips. If you want to play the games you have on your USB drive or whatever just rip the game data with the loader of your choice, it takes much less space. This software is meant to do 1:1 copies, which are useful if you want to permanently archive games, like burning them to DVD.vapor187 wrote:I was wondering if CleanRip allows me to access the backup data? You can use the rips with loaders (well the complete NTFS ones) but what's the point.
Loaders require cIOS anyway.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
No, but you can browse through a game disc with "WiiXplorer" for example or open your backup with "WiiScrubber".vapor187 wrote:I was wondering if CleanRip allows me to access the backup data? Or do I need a loader or other app to get that to work.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
okay, thanks. I figured I'd ask because I have update 4.3 on the wii with the HBC and was trying to find a loader that did NOT require me to downgrade.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
I just swapped the hard disk in my external USB hard drive with a different one and guess what, I still can't get it to work with my Wii. Formatted the thing in both FAT32 and NTFS, neither worked. I guess this means my USB hard disk enclosure is just incompatible with the Wii for some reason. I'll have to stick with my lousy 2GB flash drive for now.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
I found a 250 gb usb hdd at Walmart on clearance for like 50 bucks. Was gonna try that, if it doesn't work I'll use the drive for my PC for backup or something
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
CFG USB Loader does that quite well. I'm on 4.3 also.vapor187 wrote:okay, thanks. I figured I'd ask because I have update 4.3 on the wii with the HBC and was trying to find a loader that did NOT require me to downgrade.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
Thanks, I will have to check it out.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
You will NEVER have to downgrade for anything.vapor187 wrote:okay, thanks. I figured I'd ask because I have update 4.3 on the wii with the HBC and was trying to find a loader that did NOT require me to downgrade.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1

Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
Can someone please explain the following error:
Code: Select all
Read Error: 00031100
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
That's an unrecoverable read error. Either your disc is scratched a lot or you have a dying laser? What were you trying to backup?
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
Will Priiloader hacks to enable region free also make bad dumps?
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
No, they shouldn't.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
Thanks! Ripped my Mario Kart: Double Dash with Priiloader hacks activated and MD5 matched redump.org's.emu_kidid wrote:No, they shouldn't.
EDIT: I think I may asking too much, but is there a way to create a database for gc/wii disks based on redump.org and make Cleanrip compare its generated checksum with the database?
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
it's already coded and coming up in the next version shortly
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
Aargh, I've been trying to compile it myself to allow for chunks of 1.5GB, but when I do it can't mount my USB flash drive anymore, even though the binary you provided still works fine. Even compiling it without any changes won't work. Perhaps it's because I have an outdated library somewhere? That would also explain why I couldn't compile the later updates you've made (it couldn't find 'DI_Read_BCA').

I was trying to backup Super Smash Bros. Brawl [NTSC]emu_kidid wrote:That's an unrecoverable read error. Either your disc is scratched a lot or you have a dying laser? What were you trying to backup?
I know it's dual-layer, and I was trying to dump it to my 8GB USB in 1GB chunks.
It got this error a few seconds after part 3 started.
I tried to do it twice and got the same error.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
is the disc scratched at all?

Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
There's a few minor scratches...emu_kidid wrote:is the disc scratched at all?
...but when I'm playing the game normally, it never gets a read error.
Re: CleanRip v1.0.1
it's possible it's scratched on a part of the disc that the game would not normally read (file padding data for example) .. have you tried to dump it using another dumping program?
