Wasp Fusion in wii.

Post by Fireskull » Sun Nov 23, 2014 5:11 pm

Hey guys! I just received my Wasp Fusion from BA Consoles (great delivery) and I popped it into my Wii since I couldn't get a megadrive adapter for my cube. It seems to work fine aside from some switch error (30201: put sw3 and sw4 in ON position) even though I have the dips set for my region. One thing I am trying to figure out is how can I play my Wii games through it.

In the meantime, long live Sonic Adventure 2 Battle!

I have done plenty of research on the original WKF, but I cant find a way to play Wii games on the Wasp. I think it may have something to do with swiss... I vaguely remember seeing a post that mentioned this but as my luck has it, I can't find it again.

Any help would be appreciated, so I can screw the system back together and set it on a shelf.

Note: If this is in the wrong section, I apologize :)

Swiss does not allow playing Wii titles, you need to use original WKF firmware...
Also double check your switches. The only time you will see the switch 3/4 message is when they are physically in the wrong position

Ah okay. I double checked the switches but ill get it one last go.

As for Swiss not playing Wii titles, that's interesting. If I can flash the original WKF firmware, will I be able to to play Gamecube & Wii titles? If not, I guess I can just re-flash when I want to switch functionality. Either way, the Wasp I ordered from you its awesome :)

Edit: A better question would be, in order to put WKF 1.5 on the wasp, do I just toss the iso on a fat32 sd card and boot into it with the Swiss loader?

with WASP installed into a wii, yes you can boot both GC and WII titles using original WKF firmware

download this

warning:
do not use menu 1.3 or 1.5 because you have a firmware base of 1.0 on the WASP
this will create incompatibilities in functionality

steps:
put menu version 1.0 on your FAT32 SD card...
start swiss, then boot into the 1.0 menu
once 1.0 menu starts up you will receive a message of unable to read SD card ( or similar message )
remove the FAT32 SD card and insert a WBFS formatted SD card with WKF upgrade firmware 1.5
then select the 1.5 firmware upgrade, allow it to complete, then system should reboot...

you will now be using WBFS format from now on...
