Hello
Some pics about my GC works.
First, the WKF. Nothing really fancy, but it's clean. I used double side tape and aluminium profile :

And a housing for my IDE-EXI from megalomaniac :

I bought cheap chinese memory card. The screw holes are aligned with IDE-EXI, lucky !

hey MockyLock no pin29 wire?
Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
It can just be grounded (like he did) with Swiss autoboot. You only need it in case you have to do a firmware restore.RazorX2014 wrote:hey MockyLock no pin29 wire?
Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
I never use it (i've done the pin29 switch later).
Actually, i used it only to make my WKF with its original ISO boot. Once it booted, and once i succcesfully flashed Swiss, i never use it again.
And to be honest, i never used the lid switch either. I mean, i tried it, but i don't know how it can be use while playing and wanting to swap discs.

Nice and clean, I like it. I'll assume you put something under the wasp.

i covered the bottom of it in electrical tape and hot glued it in place but not pushing it down all the way so it hovers a few mm from the metal casing.emu_kidid wrote:Nice and clean, I like it. I'll assume you put something under the wasp.

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
Finally got around to installing my Megadrive V3. Was able to put the card slot in the front. Had to grind the side of one of the posts that one of the gamebit screws goes in, but only a little. I can still screw everything in afterwards.
I also removed the DVD portion from the plastic "sled?" area it sits in, and ground everything flat with a dremel. I plan on putting a Wii DVD drive in the resulting space, and will attempt to dremel a slot in the front of the GC.. (just waiting on drive to show up from fleabay, and still looking into a drivechip for the Wii.. so I can still play burned games).
So much room for activities after grinding that part down. I'll likely have to grind the lip off the inside of the lid as well, but if everything fits OK, I'll probably just glue the lid shut.

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
hey, just installed my wasp. didnt want to spend that much money and havent bought a breakout board, just soldered right to the wasp. it was a very hard job to solder those 0,5mm pitch, but made it and am proud off it ^^

i can play just fine, but still have little problems.
1. auto-boot does only work when the dvd drive is connected to the motherboard
2. my wasp doesnt save any settings i make and i cant change anything on site 3 of the settings.
3. can select boot from dvd, but hangs up (maybe because dvd is connected to motherboard instead to the wasp?)
4. audio streaming doesnt work
i dont need to use the dvd drive, but without it i have no auto-boot and wasp doesnt save settings so i cant select and save "force no dvd drive"
dont know how i can fix that and havent found anything about it...

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
1. See #3
2. Swiss can't save to the SD card in the WASP as it's read only, try change the settings on the PC in swiss.ini or boot the game from a SDGecko with your settings at least once to have them saved by Swiss.
3. If you have a DVD drive still connected then you will have a signal fight between the DVD drive and the WASP trying to both communicate at the same time. I'm suprised your setup works at all and I'd highly recommend not having the drive plugged in
4. If you're talking about from the drive, see #3. If you mean from the SD card in the WASP, then you'll need to wait until Swiss supports this since the Wasp alone doesn't.

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
1. i only plugged the dvd drive to the motherboard too, because only then the auto-boot functions
2. did not knew that, thanks, will have a look into this
3. yes i know. but why does the dvd drive not work, when i power off the wasp?
4. no i ment from the sd card in wasp. so swiss is the culprit? does wii key fw support audio-streaming?
EDIT:
I have built myself a sd gecko and aquired the swiss.ini from the swiss/wasp.
But it says "everything saved in here will be overwritten".
And only the first page of the settings menu of swiss is in it...
So what should I do now, save the settings and write protect the swiss.ini ?

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
I recall that the settings are not read from the Wasp even if you do this, so you'll have to wait for me to fix that. Everything will be overwritten, meaning that if you have any extra crap in the file it will go, obviously anything Swiss specific you set will remain.
Regardless of if you cut power to the Wasp, the other signals are still getting in the way, please just remove the drive and attach it properly to the Wasp, this way will never work reliably if at all.

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
hope you'll fix this soon. settings to be saved is an important thing...
Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
You'll never be able to save to a read only device, but you should be able to read from it one day.

Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
yes i know, but how about integrating the own ini file into the flash (flashed via swiss)?
Re: Wiikey fusion GC's - post your pictures!
Both the wiikey and the disc drive work.

Nice! Do you have any pics from the wiring inside?Oaisus wrote:<pics>

Here's my first build:
Wiring inside: (Big thanks to Ashen for his Plug 'n Play adapter which I lost and recovered after almost 4 years :p )
Instead of gluing the disc drive to the top I modified the drive mount so more stuff could fit underneath

And in action

Todo: better paint job. Epoxy / hot glue instead of tape.

I was mostly just showing the mounting point of the sd slot. There's actually not much of any wiring because it's a MEGAdrive v4.KirovAir wrote:Nice! Do you have any pics from the wiring inside?Oaisus wrote:<pics>

I like your WKF build, also nice job with the custom adapters.
