XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
I had a look and couldn't find the dump of the Q firmware/drive RAM, so someone will need to make a fresh copy, perhaps I will.

Ahhh okay then, that's a shame you couldn't find one, but all is not loss since you'll make a fresh copy.
How is it done anyway? Is it inherently difficult??

I was thinking the same thing, but I was thinking 1 week. Between Emu's and your posts though I think they know better now. I'll take that bet.

I do apologize if I did seem like a bit of an eager beaver, but I was just curious and somewhat excited for this happening.
I also thought it was something that wouldn't take long but I wasn't aware that his machine was in storage, had I known this I would've been more understanding.

Hi again guys, how are you all doing?
If you dont mind me this time round for asking, have you had any luck emu_kidid with the dumping? Or managed getting it out of storage perhaps?

Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Neither yet, Streetwalker is adding dumping support to Swiss and by the time that's done I'll get my Q out of storage.

Ahhh okay then, I know it's just been a week since then, have you had any luck with Streetwalker by any chance? And I do find that interesting, what is this project you two are doing by any chance??
Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Oh, I've just been adding some features to Swiss, though it's emu's project, not mine. I'm pretty lazy these days so still nothing with regard to dumping the drive, sorry.
Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
If you just want something to dump the IPL to SDGecko, the patch I provided should work (quickly and poorly written, intended only for one-time use; I'm sure Streetwalker could do this in a better manner).
Here's the issue tracker with the patch:
https://code.google.com/p/swiss-gc/issues/detail?id=121
Here's a link to a post with a pre-built copy I've linked to before:
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1375&p=28813#p28813
EDIT: It looks like Streetwalker has been checking in a better version.
EDIT2: Just reread. You need the drive firmware dumped, not the IPL. Ignore this post.

Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Yeah I already have the IPL dumper implemented, but not the DVD drive.

Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
No thanks, I really want to see the XenoGC chip working on the Panasonic Q, and I'm waiting for the firmware to be dumped, unless I can be instructed on how to do so??

Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Most likely It won't work because A. No one cares about the Q and B. It's really rare
So if you want the Qoob works and it's a really good deal so let me know

That's the whole point why I want this to happen, I CARE about this
Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Give it up Andre, he doesn't want to pay. Instead he wants us to do the hard work for free. Work for free takes time. A lot of time.
Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Thing is, you're grossly underestimating the "niche audience" part.Undead Sega wrote:That's the whole point why I want this to happen, I CARE about this
Almost anyone serious about Panasonic Q has the money and fandom status to want something with more features than a mere XenoGC.

Re: XenoGC and Panasonic Q
Well to be honest I wasn't making nothing on the sale I would lose 30. But its used so he seemed like he was in a rush for homebrew on the Q which as of this moment IPL replacements are the only way. Sorry if I seemed like a salesman I was going to keep it.
