Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Hi, thanks for emulator. How do I access the extra options to enable 240p? I can't find them anywhere. Thanks.

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Thanks for the update. The emulator is getting better by the day
I guess even those of us that dosent know anything about coding (like me) can understand: N64 emulation is hard as hell. So thank you for all the impressive work
Now there is one barrier that i bet a lot of people want to see down: The N64 Star Wars games
It seems no emulator can run it properly. Even the ones on android can only run Star Wars Racer (which is the worst one) and even so, the player´s pod racer is invisible
Funny enough, the april 20 update on Not64 made Shadows of the Empire "playable". I mean, impossible to read anything, hillarious texture swaps (in EVERYTHING), but at least playable
So... do you think its possible to do something about the Star Wars N64 games?

Those are the milestones of emulation.

I dont even like Banjo Kazooie (my syster used to love it)...
But i decided to give it a go and im REALLY impressed
Was the frame rate always this smooth??
The game is not only "playable", but seems better than the original. Only (micro) fault is the jigsaw transition screen

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
One issue I keep having is my EDTV's showing odd color banding and wavy lines.
This happens with anything that's run in 480p and reaches the leftmost part of the screen due to being 720 pixels wide.
Most Wii stuff never touches that part of the screen but Not64 and the Netflix app does it and the screen position can't be changed so it's stuck like that unless I use 480i. If the scaling could be lowered to like 704 it would not happen, of course I am probably the only one running into this issue with my outdated TV so it might not be worth changing but I wanted to mention it never-the-less.

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Well I just got confirmation via Not64 that my TV supports 240p60 but not 288p50 wierd,
yet it does 480i60-1080p60 fine including 576i/p,
no wonder the NES games in Animal Crossing PAL ngc version wouldn't show up.
Is their any homebrew I can use to see if it supports 288i50?

What kind of tv are you using? Which cables you use on the wii for video output?Zelda93 wrote:I'm having ghosting issues when playing both PAL and NTSC games on not64. There are artifacts that make the colours look washed out and blurry and diagonal lines. These are the exact same artifacts I experienced when playing NTSC roms on my Everdrive 64. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using a video mode that I'm not supposed to. How am I supposed to change the video mode? Luckily I was able to overcome these artifacts on my N64 because I had the ultraHDMI board installed.
In addition, the scaling of the screen in full screen mode is too wide (when either selecting 4:3 or 16:9 on the not64 menu). The pixels get cut off the sides of what is actually displayed and is not just a case of them going beyond the edge of the TV screen. The only way to get around this is to force 16:9 but the image doesn't fill the screen properly. This is something that needs to be fixed.
If you enable the option to show FPS and you use 4:3 or 16:9 (NOT FORCE 16:9), you will notice the first number of the FPS display is cut off.
I'm using a PAL Wii with a PAL TV. Could anyone suggest a solution for my ghosting issues?

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Then thats weird. Any setting on the tv that maybe is affecting it? The n64 games on nintendont should run at 480p if set on the wii. There is a 240p too but i dont know how to enable it. Aside from the ratio settings there is not much you can do in the video settings.

What version of devkitrice is used to compile this? We weren't able to get it to compile with the archives found online. Is there a newer version somewhere or is it currently unreleased?

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Is it possible to port Not64 to the wiiu homebrew loader?
Would it benefit from the wiiu extra power?
Will we ever be able to play Battle for Naboo again?

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Choosing a 240p video mode (by editing setting.cfg) makes the video output going into black and white only, tested on a Wii with composite cables and a CRT Tv.

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
if you're going to embed fonts, keep in mind this emulator is already pretty maxed out on memory.

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Yeah basically, plus probably a minor tweak to the autoloading args. The fix worked for Wii64 though, but I'm guessing there's likely quite a difference between that and this.
Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Subtle differences but they completely break if you're not using devkitRice

That seems to be the central theme here; is there anyone out there other than Extrems who's able to compile this?emu_kidid wrote:Subtle differences but they completely break if you're not using devkitRice
Re: RE: Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Same here. @extrems are we doing someting wrong? Or its just broken?retrogamer wrote:Choosing a 240p video mode (by editing setting.cfg) makes the video output going into black and white only, tested on a Wii with composite cables and a CRT Tv.
Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Due to laziness, it doesn't output composite NTSC on Wii, and SCART RGB support is more valuable.
Re: RE: Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
Oh ok. Well that's sad. I was expecting to see the difference between 480i and 240p on my tv.Extrems wrote:Due to laziness, it doesn't output composite NTSC on Wii, and SCART RGB support is more valuable.

The not64 version for gamecube works fine with the 240p ntsc videomode using composite cables btw (no black and white)...ntnavy wrote:Same here. @extrems are we doing someting wrong? I assume nothing can be done about the glitched screen problem during races in Diddy Kong Racing's Adventure Two?
Well, nice about the water being fixed at least.

Maybe I am missing it, could you provide a link?
I think he is referring to the newer n64 to wiimote adapter: http://raphnet.com/products/n64_to_wiimote/index.php
I can confirm this works fine on latest not64!

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator
It would mean the world to me if Dr. Mario 64 worked with this emulator. By any chance, do you think you could figure out why the textures in Dr. Mario 64 don't appear correctly?
