Submit Compatibility Issues Here
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
The recent update might have broken something, possibly related to multi-dol titles.
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
Can you suggest me a version that should work correctly? I think the problem is not with Swiss because no Capcom game worked here.Streetwalker wrote:The recent update might have broken something, possibly related to multi-dol titles.
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
I missed your mention of r371, the "before" builds are r387 and older.
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
I have tested all 9 versions of the site and find that the SD card class makes no difference due to GameCube limitation. As I am using a SanDisk card it seems that missing a DVD inside should be the problem.Streetwalker wrote:I missed your mention of r371, the "before" builds are r387 and older.
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
Wait, you don't have a DVD drive at all ? Right now you need to have a drive connected to the mainboard, even if the laser is dead, or backups won't work.
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
Only my laser died. I tested several games after installing Swiss. Many worked very well (I was impressed with the 2006 fifa world cup), some had the following problems:Streetwalker wrote:Wait, you don't have a DVD drive at all ? 1 - During loading of some stage, the GameCube has restarted for original BIOS.
2 - The game freezes when trying to access the Memory Card (sonic adventure dx)
3 - The game crashes after being started by Swiss (megaman x collection)
The first 2 cases I know should be fixed in future updates. But I find it strange that all Capcom games present the third problem specifically.

Alright. I won't be able to help you much more than this, you'll have to wait until emu_kidid comes back.

Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
I switched the SD card and almost every game worked. Some problems I encountered:
4 things:
1 - Sonic Gems does not work but Sonic R & Fighters does. Just build an ISO and replace Start.dol with Sonic R or Fighters dol. Unfortunately it does not work with Sonic CD.
2 - Do not use GCRebuilder in games with 2 disks. The swap function is lost in Swiss.
3 - FSTFix can damage some games but 32k alignment can solve problems. Most problems are caused by the main DOL. Exporting the original and importing after alignment solves the problem. I only know 2 games that damage internal files: Crash Bandicoot - The Wrath of Cortex and Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 2.
4 - Medal of Honor - Frontline can work with some modifications using the Medal of Honor - Rising Sun which was the only game that uses ELF and worked for me.

I bought another sd gecko off of ebay but my problem still remains, I've also tried swiss versions 387 and 418 besides the aforementioned 401.shika wrote:Game

Detailed report of the issue
As shown in the video, the game freezes/crashes after a few seconds when in control of the main character for the first time.
I have verified SHA-1 and MD5, I have tried multiple SD and SDHC cards (both regular and micro) from different manufacturers (sandisk, kingston, samsung), sizes (2, 8, 32 GB) and class (2, 4, 10), I have also tried forcing multiple video modes, both 16 and 32 MHz modes, disabling audio streaming... but the issue is the same: I can only play a few seconds of the actual game (when I dont mess so much with the settings it doesnt even get to that point in the game).
I have also tried the PAL version but I cant get past the silicon knights logo screen.
I have ordered another SD-to-memory card adator off of ebay because I am aware of Datel's bad rep around here when it comes to SD geckos quality, but I should let you know that I can play other games like Star Wars Bounty Hunter or Star Fox Assault flawlessly (I can play multiple game levels for hours with no issues whatsoever) and it has never failed to load homebrew or simply recognize any sd card I stick in it.
This issue is quite similar:

Pretty much same as previous game, the only thing that changes is that I've managed to play up to 30 seconds after being able to control the taxi. The backgound music plays just fine in case you were wondering. Ya ya ya ya ya!
Im starting to run out of ideas
Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
Can you try setting the SD cards to "compatible" (press Z when you're selecting the device) and see how you go, it might make it worse. I'll take a look at how it goes on a PAL / NTSC GC.shika wrote: I bought another sd gecko off of ebay but my problem still remains, I've also tried swiss versions 387 and 418 besides the aforementioned 401.

Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
That did it, NOPE. I was trying the earliest release on github (371) and I could play both Eternal Darkness and Crazy Taxi uninterruptedly after setting the SD card to compatibility speed (though I had to press X instead of Z) I'll try some of the latest builds again with this setting.emu_kidid wrote:Can you try setting the SD cards to "compatible" (press Z when you're selecting the device) and see how you go, it might make it worse. EDIT: It was the rev 371 what made the games work, I tried that version on fast speed and it works perfectly. Then I tried swiss latest release and those games DO NOT work, regardless of the speed setting.
Something changed between rev 371 and 387 that broke compatibility with some games and it's still broken on 418.
I'll try 372, 374, 376, 377 and 382 as soon as I can and report back.
371, 372, 374, 376, 377 = DO WORK
382, 387, 401, 418 = do NOT work (with crazy taxi and eternal darkness, that is)

Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
I already tested this game. Try version 376. If you use cheats, some may cause black screen while loading certain levels. If it does not work, the memory card may not be original.PavelHarstkt wrote:Game

Sonic Mega Collection was the first game I saw working on the Swiss. But I use the American version ... I recommend trying with a SanDisk SD card. Unlike Gems Collection, this game works perfectly. I hope I have been helpful.

Game: Zelda Ocarina of Time Bonus Disc from Zelda Wind Waker
Region: PAL
Medium: Original Disc
Swiss version: swiss_r646
Detailed report of the issue:
I am trying to play Ocarina of time in 480p with Swiss. I was successful with this with the Master Quest version but not with the standard version. When I load the last DOL file in the list of patched files I can start Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest. I can also load a DOL file to access the selection screen where I can choose between Master Quest and Standard version. When I then select the standard version then on the next screen I have the option to enable the rumble feature and when I continue from there I will get a black screen. There seems to be no DOL to start the standard version directly. Can anybody please advise? Many thanks.
