Boot freezes from SD Card Swiss r431

Post by Pete2kX » Thu Jan 11, 2018 6:43 pm

Hello and a happy new year to everyone :D

No matter which game I try, all I get is a freeze in the Executing Game! Screen.

100% is completed then the screen freezes. I tried several Games (all PAL) from SD Card (Class10, 32GB SDHC, Transcend).

I did not patch anything and tried speed 16 and 32 in the Swiss Menue.

Any ideas??

I`m new to GC with SD Media Launcher.

SDML is known to break a few things. I don't remember what workarounds you can try (other than trying to load Swiss again from Swiss itself) but emu_kidid might have an idea.

Thank you. I solved it today. It seemed to be the sd card. Now using SanDisk 16gb sdhc class10 and it works fine.

Btw. What is the most reliable gc Swiss Version until now?

Twilight Princess runs smooth but has sound errors in dialogues. Pokemon Colosseum freezes in intro. Rogue Squadron 2 has heavy sound errors and freezes sometimes (all Pal Versions). Or is there some kind of list for best settings for each game? I'm Running the actual swiss version, sdcard, 32mhz speed and standard settings.

Usually the latest version is recommended unless a specific build is known to work best for a specific game. There isn't really anything to do when it comes to settings for compatibility. If 32MHz mode works, then it works and you don't need to touch it.

Hi,

I do not remember problems with sound in the Wind Waker & Twilight Princess. Collosseum & XD worked perfectly here. Have you thought about buying the SD Gecko and swapping after loading the Swiss? Sometimes, I think they have performance differences in running ISOs. My opinion.

Hi :)

I bought an alternate SD Card Reader for gc and it arrived today. Perhaps it runs better now :) I'll try this evening.

Did you change any settings for TP or the Pokemon games?

Greetings

I only do 2 things: Force Video Mode = 960i for the games without the 50 / 60hz option. and Mute Audio Streaming = Yes for those who do not have streaming. This should not make any difference. I did not have to change anything. I just had to change the memory card through SanDisk. Just like you.

??? I only do this for PAL games to be shown in 60hz. Some games do not have the option. Some need a code to be displayed correctly beyond this option enabled.

Use 480i/p. 960i is an experimental option and only work as intended with 60 FPS games released before 2003.

I tried. Either the image was bad or it did not work. I do not remember the details. But when I used the 960i, it was perfect. I just needed to put the code to correct the bottom part of the image. I think in the Crash game. I remember he changed to 480i / p before starting the game. the 480i / p option could not do this. For some reason...

That's impossible as the 960i patch is a superset of the 480i/p patches.

But that's what happens here. it changes to 480 and starts ISO the way I wanted it. It makes no sense for me to lie. Someone should be able to explain.
