Can the Datel FreeLoader be used to boot .dol from SD card?
Can the Datel FreeLoader be used to boot .dol from SD card?
So, I'm looking around at the options to launch homebrews.
It seems the simplest way would be to use the SD Media Launcher. Problem is that the only thing that I can easily fine online to buy for a good price is the FreeLoader.
Can the FreeLoader be used as a SD Media launcher? I've read somewhere that the 3 products (Action Replay - SD Media Launcher - Free Loader) basically contained the same software (minus the Action Replay part for the two other). Is this actually the case?
All I want to do is to be able to launch .dol files from somewhere, I don't have imports to load, and I would prefer to not have to burn any disks. (it's an hassle )
If not, what would be the best and easiest (and cheapest) option to launch homebrews on a PAL GameCube?

Re: Can the Datel FreeLoader be used to boot .dol from SD card?
Freeloader didn't do anything for me.

Yeah, freeloader is pretty useless for homebrew unless if you're using it to boot an out of region original that you have a save game exploit for.

Sounds like a convoluted way to boot homebrew.

It's the only way I could do it on my Panasonic Q for a while until I got NTSC-J WindwakerStreetwalker wrote:Sounds like a convoluted way to boot homebrew.

I never even owned homebrew. It was just a regular gamecube.emu_kidid wrote:Yeah, freeloader is pretty useless for homebrew unless if you're using it to boot an out of region original that you have a save game exploit for.
