Official GameCube SD Adapter DOL-019, a few pics.
So i could get one of those pretty rare pieces of hardware.
It seems that it was mail-order only, in Japan, and was used by only two games : Pokémon Channel, and Animal Crossing e+
Enough of writing, let's see the pics.
Here is the box :
Mine is a bit worn sadly.
The box had this label on its back, dunno what it means :
Once opened :
And this is the SD Adapter :
Once inserted, the SD is flush to the adapter :
Running swiss on my GameCube, the adapter seems to behave like any SD adapter.

The label says SD Card adapter. I'm shocked that this exists. I guess it must have come out late in the GC's life when Nintendo was already resigned to the fact that there were ways to run homebrew on the system?

I think it was an accessory for animal crossing in Japan?

Very nice.
Both of the games he mentioned used the SD card to let you take screenshots.Aleron Ives wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:57 amThe label says SD Card adapter. I'm shocked that this exists. Yeah, but I'm surprised Nintendo allowed such an accessory when it gives you writeable media to use with the console.

It came out early not late in gc's life. If anything they stopped providing it because of homebrew.Aleron Ives wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:57 amThe label says SD Card adapter. any takes on what the other components on the board are? just to stabilize signals?
Re: Official GameCube SD Adapter DOL-019, a few pics.
Mostly resistors, likely pullups. Three caps, probably decoupling, and the two ICs are probably buffers or protection transistors.

I picked one these up and am waiting for it to arrive, any issues running games with this?

If you could post a closer picture of u1 u2 or just post the markings on the chips it's pretty easy to look up what they do.
