Its also fairly difficult to track down a Japanese Pro Action Replay, whereas Japanese Smash and Windwaker disks are everywhere (for those of us with spice orange gamecubes).

Will the original Game Boy resolution of 144 (or 288) ever be supported? It would scale nicely into 576p. Or is it impossible due to Game Boy Advance games requiring more screen space than that?

The standard edition already support scaling to 576p.

Why is 360p preferred to 576p for best quality?

360p can be line-tripled to 1080p with custom OSSC firmware, filling more of the screen than line-quintupled 240p, and is 60Hz rather than 50Hz.

Ah. Makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. Fantastic job, by the way. I'm playing through a bunch of games I haven't played since the mid 90s as I get a headache from staring at a small screen for too long.

It's a bit awkward for me to support as I don't have an OSSC.

Hello, so i have a few questions about this program. It works great but my only issue is with the controls. Im using Gbi booted up with a hacked windwaker save method. I dont have an SD memory card. Im also trying to use a raphnet snes to gamecube adapter but the control layout is terrible! the select button on the snes controller is mapped to R and R is mapped to select. (none of the raphnet alternate control schemes fix this) As you can imagine, it makes a lot of games unplayable. It's also a pain in the arse to use the regular gamecube controller.

Is it possible to change the button mappings in Gbi with my setup? I've seen a few post mention changing it up by booting through swiss but that seems to require having a gamecube sd memory card adapter. I just wish there was some sort of in app control scheme menu. Is that in the works at all? Am I out of luck as far as being able to use a decent controller?

You can append the CLI to the DOL file with the following command (on Windows):

Code: Select all

copy /b gbi.dol+gbi.cli boot.dol
Then you can convert that into a GCI with dol2gci and install it.
CLI options are documented on the wiki.

Yeah all of the recommendations for that adapter never mentioned such an issue. I emailed raphnet about it thinking it was a defect and his solution was to go into the gameboy player menu and select a different control scheme. Alas im using Gbi and not the GB player software so it's not really possible for me.

Is this a game where both Start and Select have the same function? Then you're probably on control type B. The setting from the Game Boy Player Start-up Disc carry over.

Can you add a hd mode to High Fidelity that outputs total 602x375@59.80Hz? It should greatly reduce stutter.

I believe this is my exact problem. The previous owner of my gameboy player must have used that setup. On the gamecube controller R and L is mapped to X and Y while select is mapped to R and L. So theoretically all I would need to do to fix this is to boot up the gameboy player software and change the control layout, close it out and then it should be fixed in Gbi? Does it store the control layout on the actual gameboy player hardware?

If so, my new problem is being able to get hold of the gameboy player software to do this. Im sorry if im being a total noob here but would this be possible?

1. Remove Gbi files from my memory card

2. Replace them with the dol/boot files for the official gameboy player software

3. Boot up the gameboy player software via the windwaker hack

6. Change the controls

7. Remove it from my memory card and place Gbi back on it.

It's stored in the GameCube itself with the other system settings. And no, you can't do that.

Use the other configuration method and the dol2gci tool.

I've just tried this and it results in swapped Cb/Cr. 1204x375 does work though.

Thanks. 1204x375 would be great too. If you can provide a test build I would be happy to test it as well.

There are 16 video modes per video format. I can't only have non-interlace,clock2x,size2x work.
