GameCube SD Card Capacity

Post by Dylakaies » Sat May 16, 2020 10:29 pm

Will a GameCube be able to read an SD card that is over 32 GB large? Or is the capacity infinite?

Also. Can the GameCube be modded and read an SD card through a memory card - SD card adapter.

I'm brand new. Only Nintendo product I've modded is my 2DS and 3DS.

The supported SD card size depends on the software you use. Swiss does support large SD cards (SDXC).

Don't know for sure, but I think I have read the memory limit as beeing 2TB at the moment, maybe it's the FAT32 limit and the biggest SD cards we can find. Still, there are some cards that don't work very well with SWISS, but it isn't size-related.
I personally use cards from 128MB regular to 64GB µSDXC with no problems.
No need to mod a gamecube to read SD cards, an SD-Memcard adapter costs ~$3 incl. shipping.
