Video force not working when I enable iplboot on swiss.

Post by JPnintendo » Tue Dec 29, 2020 2:45 am

Hi people! I have a little problem with swiss. I have a NTSC DOL 001 Gamecube. It has installed Qoob SX with IPLboot and start Swiss from Gecko on memory card slot B.

When I force PAL games to NTSC it works perfectly. But when I enable the option "Boot with IPL" and then I start the game video forcing doesn't work and the game starts in PAL mode (Starts the IPL and then the game both in PAL) and with distorted colors. If I turn off the IPL boot option video force works again and can play the game correctly.

Any idea? Is this a bug in swiss? I am using rev990.

It is working, just not as you're expecting. This is a current limitation with PAL games.

Thanks ! So, is there a way to get PAL games work with IPLboot with the colors showing properly? I mean, not forcing the video mode? All my TVs support all regions, but colors doesn't show correctly in GC PAL games even if I don't force video. :(

You can try your luck with setting AVE Compatibility to AVE N-DOL. This will output NTSC 50 instead of quasi-PAL-N.
Otherwise, you need to use component video.

I came to the conclusion that IPL should be disabled for PAL games, cheats ...
"in some cases"

The games will simply have colors changed.
because the result of forcing the
AVE-N-dol results in a change in the IPL.
I have 2 NGC: a dol 001, and a 101.
DOl 101, appears as "dol-001" from version 963.
and when I play an GCvideo. PAL, the game is in black and white.
it is as if my NGC has become a PAL when in a SWISS state. :?

there is a "hash" in it: Splinter Cell, (PAL) when forcing AVE-N-DOL, it simply enters the game menu, but when it goes to play, it hashes and the game returns to SWISS, as if it had a save explorer. With or without IGR, the hash is the same. :x
