2nd Pico in gamecube

Post by Therealkush » Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:16 am

Hey! New to the group. Thanks for letting me join.

I'm not a tech whiz so excuse me if the question sounds dumb. I'm curious if it's possible to use a second raspberry pi pico or another board like the adruino in the gamecube to control led lights. I don't like the idea of using a remote control or an app like alot of YouTube videos show. Especially if you could just slap some code on a chip and just have it hooked to a power supply and be done with it. I have 2 gamecubes both have picoboot. Just painted 1 and want to do the led mod but think it would be alot cooler with color changing RGB that change in sync without me needing to do anything.

On another note I was looking at the Winsinn rgb 40x40x10 fan for 3d printers as well vs the noctuna fan everyone recommends. (That's and the X1) reviews are mixed but dimensions would fit the 40mm adapter plate. Also as long as I pull the optical drive out the rest of the GC components aren't much to replace if it kills the system.
Long post I know. But I know you guys will have the answers I'm looking for.

Since both picos don't have anything in common, or are not even connected i don't see an issue here. That's like asking if another LED interferes with your picoboot imho
please search before you ask - a lot has been discussed already!

The semi-final product. Still gotta get the colors and or animations how I want them. But it is in and works. Now it's just fine tuning it to exactly how I want it.

I'd say it's a big waste to use another Pico. You can just move your code to PicoBoot and run it from the same board. PicoBoot only activates during boot and then idles, there are plenty of resources for other activities.

Hi
Agreed! Utilizing another Pico seems unnecessary when migrating code to PicoBoot allows efficient resource management.Free Fire name
