Swiss version 0.6 is released
Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released
As obvious as you didn't figure out, the GC is not a PS2.
Who cares about playing WW in Japanese off an SD card with Memcard emulation? (Does it have specific extras that US or PAL versions missed?) There are plenty of cheap discs around, and brand new memcards are still available, this game is worth the effort and sacrifice of one or another of these functionalities.
The limit for not being able to emulate Memcard while emulating streaming audio may not be the RAM limit, but the fact that you can't share the EXI bus between two (three?) uses if one needs seamless data stream, not even mentioning the needed total bandwidth for all of those uses. Using two different SD cards for game and memcard emulation doesn't necessarily mean the console has two separate EXI buses.

Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released
It seems that, if it depended on "Napoleon," Swiss would still be at version 0.1.
The point is that there's a goal for the Swiss developers: to achieve the greatest possible compatibility with homebrew. FUNCTIONS and UTILITIES.
And classic and exclusive console games should be covered by Swiss's compatibility and THESE functionalities. By fixing the Zelda WW problem, other problems can be corrected.
It's not about who plays or doesn't play, but about making Swiss as efficient as possible.
I mentioned the Playstation 2 because, despite being different, the idea of homebrew is equivalent. And if practiced in a SPORTY, HEALTHY, and non-toxic way, the PS2 was the biggest rival to the GameCube.
And if you observe, Swiss has many more functions than OPL, even running on "128-bit" architectures.
Furthermore, to perform the same functions as Swiss, the PS2 needs more than one homebrew, such as ulaunchelf, for example, which is Sony's game file manager, but it doesn't run games like Swiss.
Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and the race over these homebrews should be done in a healthy way, like in sports.
If I'm not mistaken, Extremos said that the limit would be due to memory; by the way, where is Extremos? I thought that at Christmas he and emu_kidid were going to release a new .DOL with some extra functions, but we're waiting to see.

Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released
Focus had shifted on the greater ecosystem and trying to get everyone under the same roof.

When you say "ecosystem," do you mean the interface? Like adding game covers, easily changing the background; it's what everyone has been waiting for for years...
And also the function I mentioned earlier of managing files, text reader, creating folders, etc.
Regarding putting everything under one roof, it would be interesting to create a path just for .dol applications.

Dude, if I understand correctly, you want Swiss to be able to run .gba files, (This is just me being crazy) for example, directly from the program's menu. Just like we can run the Zelda Collection files (extracted from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask) directly from the Swiss menu!!!???
Like doing the same thing as CleanRip, but through Swiss.
Play videos.
Wow, that's very ambitious! Swiss already plays MP3s. That's what I understood...
The Extremes is ambitious.
Sometimes I think it's one of the X-Men.

Nobody is waiting on game cover art. Swiss GUI is unique and in some way loyal to the original cube with the banners being displayed.

Well, you're right, the interface is truly amazing.
But I need to consider part of it, because look: this has already been discussed in this same forum, and thinking about it, it would be interesting, and it's already been commented on by those who have participated,, that it would be very useful to be able to change the background banner just through the notepad in the "Settings".
Besides, I agree that the carousel's native interface is beautiful.
However, there are the .dol files.
And if they could have covers, at least.
snes.dol mega.dol
etc etc.
????
I understand your point of view and agree in part.
Gentlemen, please speak up, because the conversation about Cubic Knife is getting interesting.
Let's continue the dialogue while libogc2 is updated.

Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released
You can do this by converting these into iso with a banner of choice. I just organized in folders with a banner I found left and right and you can achieve same thing.

It is minimal, it looks beautiful, and it doesnt slow down our cubes
