I've been looking at this since it was announced. I'm still on the fence to pre-order it, but it looks like a pretty solid device.

Tell me how it goes when yours arrives. Do you know if there's going to be like one run of these things?

The Neo2 for the 64 is bulky, annoying to update and doesn't support everything it claims. The dual cart setup doesn't look very sleek. All the updating I've had to do, requires opening the cart and not just updating files on a card. The sd card can't be used for some games and you have to use a huge usb reader box. You can't play imports on a standard US 64 without the dual CIC setup which I have never been able to get working. Lots of homebrew and every trained or cheat rom I have ever tried has failed. I look forward to the retroactive cart being much better.

Has anyone used the 64 everdrive (ED64)? Did that ever get made? Anyone know what happened to that project?

Everdrive cart:
You can follow the progress @ http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=32619
I think some people have got an early cut of the hardware and testing is going well, but I hear it lacks support of certain games (FlashRAM?)

64Drive:
http://retroactive.be/64drive/ (boasts 100% compatibility across save types and games, microSD & Compact Flash support)

NeoMyth 64 cart:
Crappy, flaky design/build quality is also poor, and requires purposely expensive NeoMyth "memory" carts to work.

mine arrived yesterday - enjoyed about 2 hours of classic N64 gaming, and I even got to finally try some of the non-emulated titles I always wanted such as Battle for Naboo and Indiana Jones (was never even released in PAL!). Pics and my thoughts on it later :)

I was reading that Banjo-Tooie was having issues, but it was apparently fixed. However, there wasn't a clear answer of if the 64Drive cart will support BT natively or will require a different chip or something of the sort.

Does BT work on your 64drive?

Banjo Tooie works either if you put in a *105 CIC or if you use a patched ROM (there's a new patch out which uses the algorithm to work out the CIC response) - same goes for Jet force Gemini.

Alright, that's great to hear (since BT is my favorite N64 game :) ). I'm thinking about ordering one of these later today, and I just wanted to be sure that there was a least an easy way to make it work.

Is there a place to get the patch? Or, is that up to Google?

Does this cart support emulators, you know, like NES emulation?

It has a NES emulator built-in, and I would imagine you can compile other (already made) emulators for it. Anyone try ScummVM?

I ordered my 64Drive near the end of August, but I'm hoping it'll get here soon.
