I bought the same cable off eBay. It would work off a NTSC cube because it outputs RGB over the component connector and not the analog port (well, both were wired up but that's besides the point).

To turn this cable into a component cable you need to basically undo the VGA mod (resoldering 1 pin down to the board, and separating RGB lines to 3 cables).

xenogc doesn't support forcing 480p. you have to use a boot disc with that modchip.
