Yes, that is correct. You can also use the VCC pins on the Pluto instead of the 3.3V from the Gamecube.

Cool thanks I just ordered two. Hopefully everything will work fine

Can you provide a link to the datasheet or at least specify the part number of the transmitter?

Thanks. With the positioning from your photograph (i.e. looking at the back), the left pin is GND, the middle one is VCC (3.3V) and the right one is the signal input.

bloody measured the video port opening slightly wrong so I had to file a small amount of the sides of port not sure if you can see it in this shot

maybe consider a minor redesign of the PCB with the HDMI connector mounted at a right angle from its current location...
this will allow for a better internal fit. A board that size can be sticky taped onto the drive cage itself in a small open area between the DVD drive and drive cage..then a cutout can be made on the back panel to allow insertion of the HDMI cable into the connector..
Do you have a picture to clarify which area you mean? I opened a GameCube a few weeks ago, but I am not absolutely sure which area you mean. The area I think you mean, does not seem to be able to fit this PCB (shuriken video).

He is going with the design above which will be a plug-n-solder design. Remove the connector and all solder from the holes then put the video device pins in the spot where the connector was then solder. I think there is a 3d printed case also but I can't say for sure.

I know, but I am interested in a design that fits more discretely. Hence I am asking megalomaniac, which area he means. :)

Look at the back of the DVD drive. See that gap between the drive assembly and the cage ? you can fit some stuff in there.

Well there is no design that fits yet. You will have to make something yourself that is discrete. I tried a GCvideo-DVI on the outside of my cube and it looks like shit but it works fine. I will try a internal install next but I'm going to use a GCvideo-lite.

Yeah it's always a challenge to make mods fit inside the console especially when you keep the DVD drive. If you remove it you have much more flexibility.

of course that area will not fit that shuriken design
but with proper redesign and creativity, yes it would fit...hence why i wrote "maybe consider a minor redesign"

im a little confused here about being interested in a design that fits a little more discretely.
from andre's description and looking at happy_bunny's pics, im not sure how much more discrete you want this to be...
ive already pointed out the issues with the fulcrum since the design hangs out about 5cm or 2in out the back of the GC..
this design is indeed very discrete...

unless you are interested in a design that fits more discreetly.
then i would assume you prefer a design that integrates a little better and is hardly noticeable at all...
if so, dont worry, i got you covered...

I meant discreetly, lol. English is not my main language.

During my quick investigation, I think I noticed quite some space underneath the disc drive. There is only a small hole to access that area however, so a board would have to be made with the chips being underneath the disc drive and then part of the PCB sticking out of the hole with a HDMI connector at the end, I guess. Some sort of L shaped PCB. That was my first impression however, my GC lies at my parent's house, so I can not investigate further.

Great Job! Thanks a lot!

and, @happy_bunny could you tell me the 1.2v LDO model number? I find that 1117-1.2 is not suit for this pcb

Thank you.

I guessed the model number is 1117-5.0 and MCP1826S-12

I made a zip file for OSHpark.com using happy_bunny's design files because I was having a lot of problem's with PCB makers reading his format.
I take no credit for any part of his design I just made it readable for my PCB maker of choice.
video_artwork-osh.zip
(23.46 KiB) Downloaded 638 times
Download the zip file and log on to OSHpark.com and upload the zip. Its $11.45USD for 3 boards

Due to Nintendo uses a non-standard connector, I make a homebrew one:

by my test, I have many GCs, include NTSC-u/j and PAL, they all works.

on my TV, the TV says NTSC-u/j display 480i, and PAL display 576i under interlaced scanning mode, and all shows 480p input signal under progressive mode.
