finally got this working. Had to do a few things, like wire 3.3v using the GC power header on a DOL-001 direct instead of using the regulator (it was intermittently working), dispite the instructions that you can leave that connection closed for WKF in the original topic, you can't, you need the gnd/NC switch at least, and the ribbon cable is a tight fit.

It's a good little connector board but don't get me wrong, it'll still take a lot of work to get it working. I wonder if kennycc is still around.. (I'll send him a PM).

Hi emukid. Im still around. Thanks for the feedback for the adapter. will improve it. I just need some time do test it.
