I have to admit that the custom regulator seems a bit too much for me, but perhaps I'll do something similar to you- with 4 sets of 3 instead of 2,

the custom regulator will extend (maximize) your battery life at a lower voltage (7.4v) compared to using the GC regulator...
also the GC regulator requires 12v batteries and its inefficiency will waste battery amperage

It sounds amazing, but I don't real have the skills to make one (or at least haven't made anything similar), and I wouldn't really know how to connect it to the motherboard anyway.

dreamcast isn't that big. I mean pgc that Ashen did are much smaller, but you know.. everything that you can hold, has battery, screen, controller and work is portable;]

Yep, that actually looks to be a really nice screen, supports composite and VGA, so if you ever decide to splurge on a component cable you could upgrade your video easily. Nice find!

That looks like a nice screen. A lot more suitable than the PSOne LCD.
