just as an update, it looks like international shipping rates have gone up a bit...
when i was selling the BBA's a few months ago, shipping outside of north america was 13.95$
this has now increased to 16.95$
these rates are based on using the US postal international priority shipping..
i performed a few quick quotes online, and if i use my own box and packing, regular first-class mail could be about 11$ depending on final package weight...
this should put total/final cost right at 60$ total (depending on final weight/destination)

i just noticed i posted a pic of a B012455...
haha oops, i didnt even realize it at the time...
i happen to have an official board with a B012455
since the B012355's ive tested havnt worked with my monitor during 15khz mode, maybe ill have time this weekend to see if my monitor passes or fails during (expected) 15hhz mode with this other chip version...
this should tell us once and for all if the chip functionality was changed or if dalian are liars...
ok..i connected the B012455 to a VGA mod...
my monitor could not display any video until progressive mode was selected.
this means the B012355 and B012455 are the same in functionality and Dalian monitors are in fact capable of displaying 15khz video...

one member send me their official component cable to perform a full A/V board mod...
here is the board...
also, this mario icon may have been pushing the etching limits, but it came out pretty good in my opinion considering the small size and detail required...
now i think i have a baseline of which icons my be too difficult to etch and which icons will not be a problem...
enjoy the pic, slightly out of focus on the text...
the camera would not want to focus on the text...
hope you like the font i chose for your name...

Hey Guys, it's been a while since I was here (it took me about 2 days to go through all the posts I missed in the past 3 months), but it's good to see some progress from megalomaniac on the Composite cable. Things are looking good!

ill try to make the back panel AUX board by end of this week to provide a better idea of what to expect when its all put together...
...and a few more pics for reference

Good, pins look good. Something made from copper, we stay tuned for updates!

Don´t know if you know it:
Macronix CMPV-DOL video chip is a digital-to-analog converter
Maybe there are similar chips for this project?

actually im getting ready to remove the pins from the board and try again...
i was not satisfied with the final product...its too difficult to perfectly align the pins freehand..
each pad is only 1.5mm with a 0.8mm hole...
that doesnt leave much copper on the board which puts the board in danger of accidentally lifting a pad during many attempts at freehand pin realignment..
my shipment of molding compound arrived and im currently making a little mold to hold the pins in "perfect" (cough cough) alignment which will address these issues and keep the board safe from accidental destruction during its production..

Yes and no.
There are plenty of DACs in the world as you use one with virtually everything that manipulates data digitally and outputs RF/Composite/S-Video/component/etc. There is even a CPLD replacement DAC for the N64 that will allow for RGB output but it required someone write up the code to get it to do that, it was not what you call a "drop in replacement".
The GameCube component cables use the CMPV-DOL chip. You could use another I suppose but the fact is the CMPV-DOL is a custom chip that Nintendo uses that cannot simply be swapped out. I'm not familiar with the communication protocols but in order to get something else to work you'd either have to reverse engineer the communication to spoof it or bypass the whole thing and implement a CPLD or FPGA somewhere else to tap the signals.
It is not as easy as changing one chip for another or else it'd likely be done by done.

those "should" ship this week...
guys send me your address so i can get it out...
those 3 members will provide feedback on:
quality, install, test results, and overall opinion....also, any possible ideas for improvement...
while awaiting for feedback i will prepare the design for the next batch of boards...

I don´t understand what u mean with the second List...
Also a YUV Cable but with built in optical Audio?
If so - then i want one of this too!
