Swiss Nightly Build
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Just and update thanks emukidd it worked like a charm. Hopefully I get free time to finish my GameCube, and once it is done I will post. I am currently waiting on a wii DVD drive from megalomaniac who is up to his eyeballs in orders. Also I'm probably gonna add hdmi to my new cube and a game boy player if I can figure out a good place to mount it and If I want to deal more wiring.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Good Evening,
I dusted off the old GameCube after a year or two for my brother, and decided "what the heck, I'll update Swiss." I'm not sure if this has been reported w/ the Nightly Builds, but my Viper Extreme makes a green screen with builds 374 and up (the new compression method?).
Methods tried
From Viper Flash: 374 & 377 Viper Specific DOLs
DOLSendUSB: Vipers 374 & 377, Normal 377
I hope this helps your future development

Yeah, this needs to be fixed, sorry about that, it's the new compression method potentially not doing whatever dollz (the old compression method) did for Viper.Tsusai wrote:Good Evening,

In the meantime as a workaround, you can take a uncompressed version of Swiss and run it through d0llz with the -v flag to generate one for a ViperGC.

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
No worries, I understand that to be the nature of nightly builds, and just wanted to bring that to your attention. I'll give d0llz a shot.emu_kidid wrote:Yeah, this needs to be fixed, sorry about that, it's the new compression method potentially not doing whatever dollz (the old compression method) did for Viper.Tsusai wrote:Good Evening,

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Would it be possible to add the multi-disc switch over feature found in SD Gecko to the Wasp Fusion on-board SD card reader?
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Yeah, I found my WASP/WKF GC again today so there's a chance I'll try to add it again

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Excellent- that is music to my ears!!!
I'm just a picky obsessive compulsive individual who doesn't like the aesthetic appearance of the SD Gecko and like to have all my games in on area to load. Thank you for taking the time to do this
EDIT: Besides my OCD comment- the convenience of being able to utilize just one SD card for multi-disc swapping is what I'm aiming for. Considering from what I've been reading up on overall compatibility, my assumption is the WASP's SD reader seems to be a bit more stable when it comes to launching games overall. Just wanted to clarify that

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Any progress on multi-disc via WASP?
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
I keep starting the code for this and scrapping it cause it never works quite right, maybe I'll try again soon!

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
I'm trying to load swiss's boot.gci v0.4r382 through the wind waker 1.1 exploit, but no luck.
Everytime the game freezes after the press start screen. Does the swiss boots without sdgekko? I don't have one at the moment, I just want to leave the sdgekko setup ready.
GB Interface seems to boots fine for me, it just reboots the console, probably because I don't own a gb player.
I appreciate any kind of help.

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Managed to get the latest version to compile. It was a bitch to get swissserver to compile. Had to install some mingw stuff to get it to compile on ubuntu.
EDIT: Removed the link since the build is now up on github.

Hadn't noticed that I'd forgot to upload the latest release to github, I'll do that tonight so you don't need to do that again.im under your bed wrote:Managed to get the latest version to compile. Thanks

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
This new build isn't supposed to change anything in your case. Where exactly did it freeze ? Does the newest build on GitHub also freeze ?
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
i tried both swiss_r387.7z and swiss_r382.7z but cannot seem to play Super Mario Bros. Melee. The game loads but freezes when hitting start button after choosing a character. The compatibility list says its "working" on 0.4 r334 but could not find that version. Anyone have a copy?
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Verify your rip against redump.org. Don't use scrubbed rips.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Yeah I've already done that. Hashcalc matches the one Super Smash Bros. Melee at redump.org.Streetwalker wrote:Verify your rip against redump.org. Don't use scrubbed rips.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
I tried loading an old 0.3 Swiss version and the game seems to play fine but some stutter sounds on start up. But playable.
Anyone with a copy of 0.4r334?

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
I haven't tried emu_kidid's builds but my own build from the latest git can boot both the PAL and NTSC-U just fine. I'll try it out later, the cause could be another bug introduced by the newer devkitpcc (I'm using an old version here for various reasons). What is the exact checksum of your copy?
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Hmm ... with the version 387 I get random hungups navigating the SD card. I don't know if it freezes or just doesn't respond to controls anymore.
With version 382 it works without issues.

Own a couple PAL and JPN cubes. And three BBAs. Homeland and PSO I/II.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Same. With the exception that it only got hung up for me when attempting to navigate into folders.Sierron wrote:Hmm ... with the version 387 I get random hungups navigating the SD card. I don't know if it freezes or just doesn't respond to controls anymore.

However, once I turned the file management setting to "OFF" (the default setting), I no longer had any issues.

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Just confirmed, you have version 1.00 of the game and that does indeed freeze after choosing a map. I was testing with PAL and version 1.02 which don't have that problem. We'll be looking into it, find a 1.02 rip instead of using an ancient version of Swiss for now.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
sorry i thought i already updated my post. Yes it is version 1.00. I tried a 1.02 version and it works.Streetwalker wrote:Just confirmed, you have version 1.00 of the game and that does indeed freeze after choosing a map. I have another game, Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Requiem (USA) rip, which also freeze after the intro.
Re: Swiss Nightly Build
About playing PAL iso, is there any settings i need to set? Im running an NTSC-U Swiss version 0.4r387. I tried to load Doshin the Giant(PAL) from the sdcard(sdgecko) and it loads fine but the picture is black & white. I tried the setting on my tv like pal, pal-n,pal-m,etc. i get to see colors on pal-m but the picture is continuously scrolling down fast. Im from the Philippines with NTSC color system TVs.
