Shame Tantric decided not to fix the GC version, the audio has been getting worse in each build and now as of r452 is completely broken :(

Someone suggested using 3.0.2 but that verison seems badly broken..

I'm going to submit some fixes which should hopefully revive the GC version :)

Ah, seems he forgot to re-add

Code: Select all

AUDIO_StartDMA();
though the timing's still messed up..

I wouldn't test building from SVN, AUDIO has changed and so I'd wait until a stable release.

Well we'd have to wait for you to work your magic I think anyway, the timing's been like this since 3.0.6 for GC (on PAL consoles at least).

Hello, I didn't try 3.1.7 but I tried 3.3.1 and a few previous versions and still have same problems. It either like big lag after I press the button since I see the reaction on the screen or like the whole emu is working terribly slow.

Using PAL console, any advices?

ps. also, the black screen on exit is another problem.

The only way exit will work is if you have setup your SD card with SDLoad the traditional way (with SDPatch.exe run first, etc).

Also, as I said on IRC, get a really older version, or, for each ROM, open it, go to the in game menu, change video to PAL60 or NTSC 480i, it'll work fine then.

Hi there. Yes I remember, I tried about 4/5 different older versions, no change - also I see that there is "Fixed PAL support" written in the changelog for version 3.3.1. Guess it should be ok than, but it's not.

Also, I tried to set SWISS to NTSC which didn't work anyway; and after reading your post I guess I misunderstood you back than. Is that correct you're telling me to run the emulator, load rom and than change the video mode?

How can I switch from the running rom to video mode selection screen?

EDIT:

OK, here's how, it was so simple, of course it works, thanks a lot:

---

As I didn't find the possibility to save emulator settings here's how to set this NTSC settings to be used as default in FCEU GX. Simply go to the emulator folder and locate settings.xml file, than change:
<setting name="videomode" value="0" description="Video Mode" />
to
<setting name="videomode" value="1" description="Video Mode" />

Is there any way to save settings while using the emulator? I want to set the original filtering and PAL(60) renderer but I don't know the numbers to config file.

Anyone knows the numbers to have such settings?

I'm trying to play with 4 players, but controller 3 and 4 are not responding. Should I do something special to get this to work?

As many consoles of the times, in previous and next generations, the NES didn't physically have four controller connectors, so you had to connect something else, somehow, to achieve this.
In emulators, you often have to set the four players option to get this additional hardware emulated too.
For FCEU GX, it's an option of the in-game settings menu, "controller" parameters.
