I am new to this and need help

Today I bought sdml to play gamecube isos. I downloaded swiss and and ran it on my gamecube, however I had problems playing the iso files. When I attempted to load a game the screen would turn green (or black) and then freeze, or would say something like 'game loaded 100%' and freeze. Any help would be great!
Thanks

Don't use SDML as the "original disc" in the drive. Also, make sure the games are using the correct video mode (Autodetect) at first.
Are you trying to play the games via SD or DVD? If SD, the SD adapter that comes with SDML is known to be cheap and unreliable.

By 'original disc' do you mean the disc in use after swiss has been launched? (sorry if I sound dense but literally looking this up yesterday) Should I swap the sdml disc for any original gamecube game at this stage? I am booting them from sd card and am attempting to use the sdml adapter - is there any adapter you'd suggest over this one? Cheers for your help

Yep, the disc you put in the drive after Swiss has launched. Although these days it shouldn't matter much, some games still care. Make sure you select to Use a disc in the drive and don't stop motor. If you can boot a game like that, after that, feel free to fine tune things. Also, if you've shrunk the ISOs/etc, you might want to try original untouched ISO files.

Thanks for your feedback! I will try what you have suggested tomorrow - really want this to work lol. I have tried shrunk and unshrunk isos to no avail. I will also try a different sd adapter.

I use SDML and always leave the disc in without problem.
What .iso are you trying to boot.

So far I have tried mario kart, wind waker and super mario sunshine; two of these were ntcs and the other was pal (I stay in europe). All the isos i have attained are from online sources. My procedure has been as follows:
1)use sdml
2)launch swiss.dol
3)select and attempt to run iso (both compatible and fast)
after stage 3 I see a loading bar and then either the screen freezes on 100% complete or I get a black screen

Right now I don't since my games are at the other side of the country which is unfortunate. Can you please describe the process that you go through to play your image files? Cheers

I use the same process as your self.
Try this public domain demo.

I would say your problem is with the supplied SDML reader - you can get a SD Geko or wiSD adapter from eBay.
Which country are you in as maybe a user could suggest a local supplier.

Search eBay for wii SD - There are a few adapters for £3.50
Last week there was some nicer SD Geko units for £ 3.00
There is also right now Dol-19 Nintendo SD adapter in USA for big price.
