What particular function does the WKF dvd port add to the gamecube?
Would connecting it to the disc drive board allow audiostreaming, or am I mistaken?

I could see it being possible dissasembling the disc drive and connect only the board itself (which takes a low amount of space and use it in union with WKF sd loading. If I am not completely wrong audiostreaming is using a chip or a resource of some kind on the dvd drive board, so wouldn't adding the board allow audiostreaming compatability? Or does the dvd port not function at all while the WKF sd card is in use?

also, the modchip itself only reads SD or DVD at a single time..
it does not read SD data to pass it up to the driveboard and wait for a reply to send it back down to the mainboard...

in fact, no data at all is being sent from one of the required audiostreaming pins, hence the only way to fix audiostreaming from DVD is to use the MEGAwire mod

yup...it happens..
the only way to get audiostreaming titles to work with full functionality using WKF/WASP/WODE requires the DVD drive...
