My XenoGC 2.0 is supposedly working (according to led light at least).

It loads original discs at almost any ohm there is, except when it's so low that the disc motor wont even spin.
I have for a long time ran backups on XenoGC without many issues, however recently I started to only get them working 1/10th of the time. Then 0 times. I lowered the ohm in increments untill I reached the point where not even originals would boot (disc wont even spin at one point). It won't work at any ohm, and it's very sudden.

Ohm: Every # tested
BackupDVD: All discs have previously worked, good quality, good burn.
Originals: Working as long as motor spins, so any ohm works here.
Gamecube: 001 GER DOL

Sounds like Xeno failed . I had one like that. Only i got one faulty reading for backup and then one working, and the rest just didn't work anymore. My Xeno died fast.

Try desoldering the Xeno and use an exploit or SDML.
It might be the laser that died.

Can't be the laser since the originals work. Try desoldering it and reinstalling with wires.

I managed to get rid of:
-An error has occurred.
-Please insert GAMECUBE cd.

Now I get an infinetively long "reading disc..." and the laser pretty much does nothing but idle at the innermost part of the disc except on boot.

And I have no SDML not dependant on a backup disc to boot :L
Last WKF part has yet to arrive :L

Have cleaned laser and tried everything from 0 to 400 ohm, nothing works.
It used to be able to read DVD-R's, but suddenly stopped to do so.
Edit: New laser eh, got an old one lying around. should probably do the trick (don't know how much used this GC was before I got it, but it was very clean).

Double check the XenoGC still works, can you boot Imports or can you boot an original and press the start button to bring up the XenoGC menu?

swapped laser, no multimeter atm so need to grab one at school. Didn't work with new laser and old pot, but I kinda assumed that would happen.

Any chance you have any full size Ritek dvds? I have found mine reads full size better than mini. Just to see

Fullsize Verbatim DVD-R.
It shouldn't really be the media as they worked previously perfectly, just suddenly stopped. I changed pot and it worked again, now nothing will work. Re-adjusting pot soon with the new laser, got the multimeter now

Mine was reading Sony mini DVD-Rs without a problem, one day that stopped and couldn't get anything but original discs. Played with the pot, full size discs worked. Ritek minis work but still get DREs from time to time

The resistance was off the charts! It was at an amazing 800ohms, and still ran original games! Holy shieeeet . . .

Resting at 130 now, works fine. Laser (from old gc) is used a lot (since 2002) by our family.

So it works again ?

Yeah, but I wonder how the ohm suddenly became as high as 800. I doubt I was sleep adjusting.
My FFC breakout board should arrive any day, so I'll have an icedcube and a wkf cube :)
I wasn't that worried about the cube really, they're dirt cheap haha
