Very true the dvd had to be disconnected no matter what. One question I wanted to ask when hooking up the power to the Wii drive there is 3 ground wires can I just connect one of them or does all of them need to be connected?megalomaniac wrote:i indicated "not recommended for home consoles" due to the fact the DVD port must be removed...andre104623 wrote:My last project wasp+megadrive 5 who said it can't be for home use!
anything can be done with the designs...they work in almost any configuration imaginable...
the difference is the designs intended application VS user modified application...
I thought the mega wire goes on the wasp from the host side to the dvd sidemegalomaniac wrote:just 1 is fine...
but with that blob of glue on the drive, you covered up your only hope for audio streaming
So can't I just jump pin 28 on DVD side wasp to pin 1 on GC mobo since its just straight connection to that point?megalomaniac wrote:that pic your are talking about shows 1 way to do it...
essentially, just jumper Wii drive pin 28 with GC mainboard pin 1
plus adjust the settings
yes you can, but what is easier?andre104623 wrote:So can't I just jump pin 28 on DVD side wasp to pin 1 on GC mobo since its just straight connection to that point?megalomaniac wrote:that pic your are talking about shows 1 way to do it...

soldering a wire to a huge pad on the DVD drive board or trying to solder to an FFC pin??
