XenoGC Help - At my wits end lol

Anybody with knowledge of GC modchipping that could read this entirely and help me troubleshoot would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm almost about to throw it out the window.

So basically, I ordered a Xeno GC (it's the 2.0 version), and put it in a year ago or something. It worked great, played many of my old favorites. Then, it stopped working. I assumed it was the laser POT so I blindly adjusted it with no success, then used a multimeter and had no success whatsoever. It simply says "no disc", however, regular discs work fine. I then decided it was the laser that needed replaced, so I did so. My new laser is in and working fine, but the same issue is occurring. Now this leads me to believe it's the chip coming unsoldered, however I get the orange LED like I should for the 2.0... But I can't hold start to open the shell or whatever ( never have before anyway ). I really just need help.. This is driving me insane.

I've tried:
-cleaning lens
-new burns
-POT adjust
-new laser

Still nothing. Should I resolder the chip? If so, how do I remove it from the board?

I should also mention the thing that makes it seem as if the Xeno is installed properly is that it gets closer and closer to reading and running the disc the lower I adjust the POT, but nothing ever fully works. Maybe that doesn't mean it's installed though, idk.

Does the shell open when you put in an original and hold start ? Both LEDs on means it successfully patched the drive so it should work.

I hold start and boot up an original and nothing happens. Which makes me think maybe the xeno GC is not working considering it read backups before I even POT adjusted now it won't ready a brand new POT adjusted laser.... Yet the LED is orange? Which is considered working on the 2.0 version.

How is the chip soldered in? If soldered directly over CN302, I would very cautiously and quickly reheat the various points, testing after each one to see if there is any change. There is a danger of bridging connections with solder if not careful (especially underneath the top two contact points PWR & C). Trying to remove the XenoGC may also be risky without proper desoldering equipment. Whatever you do, proceed very carefully.

Given that the LEDs work, I would guess that power and ground are okay. So, perhaps try reheating points A/B/C/D one by one and see if that changes anything. On second thought, a poor ground connection may cause strange behavior, so try that one too if nothing else works.

Based on this code here: https://github.com/emukidid/xenogcfork/ ... e/XenoAT.c

The red LED only switches off on successful communication. That being said, you may have issues with your soldering that make the connection intermittent, recheck the soldering.

His orange LED turns on, that means full success, but yeah check the soldering.
