White controller: do LEDs shine through?

Hey guys!
I was thinking about getting an official controller in white and do a LED mod. Would the LEDs shine through the white plastic? I didn't find any pictures of something like this. All LEDs mod I saw use transparent controllers. If there are any mods like this I would appreciate photos/links.
If not, maybe someone who has one could test if the light shines through.
