I'm new to modding GC's and I'm looking to do some hardmodding but i dont know what to do.

My skill set is relatively limited but i have a couple of silver GC's to practice on.

I wanted to know if there is any hardmodding that I can do to change the video output resolution.

Also any recomendations for POT tweaking as well as what equipment I need.

Thanks a lot

To tweak the POT on the drive you'll need at least:
* GameBit to open the GameCube
* Size 0,1 & 2 Phillips head screwdrivers to remove the cage from the drive, tweak the POT and remove the cage from the base respectively
* Multimeter to measure the resistance across the POT

Without this or much more I'd suggest you read around the forums before doing a "hardmod" on your GameCube.

Install the modchip this way, it is much easier. I am going to both of my Gamecubes (PAL and NTSC) this weekend for the first time.

Also use electrical tape to cover the connectors that are not involved with the mod but are closeby.

You can mod the system to force 480p without a boot disc, if that's what you mean.
Qoob Pro is an option. Or use a method that automatically loads Swiss.

just to add, changing the video resolution is useless unless you install extra hardware to allow 480p / 576p video output

At this rate yeah. There are silver gc's with digital out, but it isn't like the component cable will get any cheaper.

The exact reason why I what to improve the video out. The component cable is insanely pricey!
