im new to modding the game cube but not other consoles.
im wondering if there's a way or a place to buy something that i do not have to solder. that allows usb drive or burnt backups.
ive never soldered anything and i don't really trust my vision with trying.
also what is sd media launcher?
and last why would some one want a wii drive in a gamecube
thanks and this seems like a great place to stick around and read a ton

Normal gamecubes must initially boot from a disc. Without modding you need sd media launcher, or an exploitable game.
sd media launcher is a commercial disc that allows running programs on sd (backup loaders, emulators, etc).
ISOs from sd can be considered inconvenient though. sd media launcher wasn't updated for sdhc, so you have to swap sd card.
I believe using a wii drive on gamecube is mainly just to show it's possible. too large to fit inside the console's shell, unless modified, and the different eject mechanism is an issue.

well ive done some research on the xeno mod chip and i think i mite be able to solder it.
if i went this route all i would need is a gc/wii memory card sd adapter and a burned iso of swiss (imgburn)?
do i need to mess with the pot or anything?
will a 32 gb sd/micro sd card work
do the other mod chips have better features?
is there anyway to tell which version xeno it is from a ebay picture
