DVD Emulator?

What happened to that project has it been scraped? I thought it was a project that used the advantage of the higher speed DVD interface instead of the low speed laggy memory card port / sdgecko combo all I see is IDE-EXI which seems to turn the memory card slots into some hybrid sdgecko type IDE HDD interface, what benefit does this offer over than cheaper / extra file space than SD? the maximum write/read speed is still the same is it not?

What happened to it? I have a working prototype here that'll boot games from the SD Card!
But the hardware genius behind the hardware side of it has no time these days as he needs to do actual work to support his family.
It's been WIP for about 3-4 years almost now and he's still up to get it done, and so am I to do the software side of it.......
All I can say is give it time. Unless we can motivate him with some sort of donations pool to get him to do it? I'll bug him about it again to see if we can get the ball rolling

oh right, that thing
i remember when v1.1 was announced everyone went aaaapeshit.
a donation pool would be nice but we all have to accept that family's first and that guy sure has other important stuff to do.
we're getting an IDE2EXI in a few weeks anyway....

Thanks for keeping me up to date I thought i'd dreamt / mixed it up with IDE2EXI no news since tehskeen went offline good to here it's on the backburner somewhere
