No too sure, asking on thoughts, the bloke says it's for a custom board programmed. It won't utilise the dvi component port but I wonder if it can still deliver nice video quality through the composite port

Aslong as it's better than composite. And then being able to play an unsmeard n64 on LCD would be a bonus without the hassle of buying and installing ultrahdmi

The best video quality it could have with that connection is S-video, as it seems to work with unmodified N64s, but it's probably composite quality through HDMI

Contacted the seller; it's S-Video, SNES, PAL N64s, and NTSC Gamecubes only.
...S-video for $120...

Yes. Just get an S-Video cable.
