IDE-EXI, big problems or no big deal?

All my ide drives (except for very old drives) give me the message "48-bit LBA not supported". Is there something I should change on the hard drive or can I just ignore this?

Many of my Western Digital drives (Caviar WD205AA, Caviar WD102AA) give me "Error 13 - Check IDE-EXI". Is there something wronge with my ide-exi or are these just non-compatible drives?

I noticed the LED on the adapter turns on when it is connected to the HD and glows brighter when some drives are connected. Maxtor 91024U4 gives me a super bright LED but the drive gives me the error 13. A Quantum Fireball drive flashes the LED once and freezes at the scanning for drive screen. The only drive I could find in my closet that works (WD Caviar SE WD800 80GB) gives me a very dim light but works great. Is this a power problem or no big deal?

Despite the LBA warning and the dim light, the WD800 works great.

Everything tested on Xeno Cube with Swiss r17(iso) direct booted from disc.

Siphoned, those WD's that give the Error 13, how old are they, I'm guessing 20GB and 10GB?

The HDD needs to at least support LBA mode which came in at around the high-end (money wise) 20GB hdd's. I have an 80GB which has LBA mode too, that works great, and I have a 120GB which also has LBA and works too. LBA48 came in after the 120GB size hdd's, that is supported too.

I might re-add support for those older non LBA (CHS mode) hdd's, but not until a bit later on.

Oh, also, the LED circuit on the IDE-EXI's is kinda backwards (but it won't harm anything, you'll just get the LED on when it's meant to be off and vice-versa) - it was a mistake on our behalf but you still see it flicker when there's activity ;)

The clue in WD is the first part of drive name ;-)
WD-102-AA = 10.2GB - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/legacy/L ... el=WD102AA
WD-205-AA = 20.5GB - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/legacy/L ... el=WD205AA

Yeah, thought so. These are probably too old. I will add support later on for these, because really, you could buy a SDHC card larger :)
